Title: My response to the Q&A with Barry from C=USA
Post by: Kesa on April 16, 2012, 07:17:05 AM
It's time for a new poll...

Before i read the Q&A when it eventually comes up i just want to state that I for one am neutral and open to having my mind changed (not likely but possible).

I set up this poll with as many responses i could think of with multiple choices allowed so please forgive me if i missed a response.

Let the trolling begin!

I voted 'overall a waste of time' because this poll is void. Its not fair to start a poll before he even has even replied to the set of questions.  Treat others how you wish to be treated in return.

I thought the questions would be up by now. Where i am it is 6PM on the 16th :-/

But maybe you could have waited for the questions to come up to make this poll valid?

What gets me is someone (one person for all three) has already voted "i am satisfied the questions were genuinely answered to the best of Barrys abilities", "the answers were insightful and my opinion of CUSA and Barry have changed for the better",  and "Barry's the man! I knew he would come through. Never doubted him for a second!" even though the answers aren't up.
Kind of devalues the entire poll. It's like those people on Amazon who review a game and give it five stars when it's not been released, they just liked the game before it.

Even though the answers aren't up, my opinion of CUSA and Barry have worsened

When the poll is an exercise in trolling, expect absurd results.

No it's not. I tried to make the poll fair and objective and i stated my stance on CUSA is neutral and may be subject to change depending on the answers provided, which is only fair to Barry.

Are you always this cynical?

I expect it would be around 12pm (GMT) when we see the response anyway. To be honest I am not expecting too much from it.

But why raise a poll when there have been no answers from Bazza?

No, first we have to be very anxious awaiting great answers (even we know answer is ... 42?)

I already figured Barry was only in it for the money, doesn't actually give a fig about Commodore or the Amiga except as brand names that got famous for a while and might still be exploitable, and is derisive of anybody who feels differently. The interview didn't give any new information, but it did at least provide public confirmation for those suspicions.

I'm satisfied with answers, but it does not change my opinion. I'm simply not interested in this kind of "Amiga".

Few would have given Barry any grief if he had just released Commodore branded PCs with retro styling, instead of tacking the C64 and Amiga brands on machines that don't warrant them.  He doesn't seem to understand why so many people hate what he's doing.
He's a huckster, and little else.

The bold portion negates everything you said earlier. If you are open minded, you wouldn't say "not likely but possible" because you are already pre-staging a bias which is contradictary to open-minded. To be open-minded means non-biased.

I think Windstar fails to realise that there is a history and that reading behind the lines of his interview the Baron has quite a talent for male cow excrement (BS)
