Forget Terrasoft. Eyetech is THE reseller of MAI technology.
Eyetech is *A* reseller.
They're quite possibly the BIGGEST current reseller, however only in terms of committment to order numbers for future deliveries. You brought up Terrasoft for example, who hasn't committed themselves in any way, since the product (Teron PX) simply is not yet finished for end-consumer sales. A sensible attitude. Then again, TSS is in a different position and don't have to risk anything if they don't want to; should they not be happy with the product for whatever reason ("delays" come to mind), they can simply say "big deal, let's wait and/or look for alternatives and keep selling Macs as usual then". In contrast, there's no backup plan for the... ahem... "new Amiga", there would be a whole lot of outraged pre-order customers, and AmigaOS would be fscked and left stranded without hardware.
GGS-Data is bigger on MAI hardware than Terrasoft.
Since TSS have sold exactly 0 boards (see above...), that would hardly be surprising.
MAI are designing the next generation AmigaOne hardware from Eyetechs wishes,
Now, now. I think you've been listening to Alan Redhouse, you're beginning to sound like Helgis75.
Things are bad enough when AmigaOS users "only" have to
pretend that there's a need to only be allowed to buy our hardware from an "Amiga dealer". If they went ahead and actually ordered an exclusive bloody custom job, then the expensive stench of the 1980's would really become too strong for me to stay.
and you can bet your "luffar"
Heh. No I won't. I don't dare to. Not until you've told me what a luffar is?
But yeah, I think Linux will be running on future Articia based POP derivates too. Oooh! Aaaah! Shock & amazement :-O
