well here we are at the end of yet another month. No os4 no A1 on my desk, im not upset or angry all i would like to know is some type of semi official date to look foward too, not knowing is worse than having a date even if the date is out by a few weeks, so at least bolster us up a little and give us some positive news ppl

Just give them another two weeks!  ;-)

I had a dream last night about buying an A4000.

:madashell:
Such a beautiful dream. Sorry it wasn't an A1 but I want a real Amiga if I'm gonna have one at all.

Always wondered what it would be like to own a PPC Amiga.*Drool*
AKA ED-209 on IRC...

@Seehund:

You really have NO idea, do you?
Forget Terrasoft. Eyetech is THE reseller of MAI technology.
GGS-Data is bigger on MAI hardware than Terrasoft.

MAI are designing the next generation AmigaOne hardware from Eyetechs wishes, and you can bet your "luffar" it'll end with someone from amigaone-linux.sourceforge.net getting the kernel to compile (of course, that includes the Friedens and Bill Mueller, so maybe not much of a shock :-) )

Eyetech is *A* reseller.
They're quite possibly the BIGGEST current reseller, however only in terms of committment to order numbers for future deliveries. You brought up Terrasoft for example, who hasn't committed themselves in any way, since the product (Teron PX) simply is not yet finished for end-consumer sales. A sensible attitude. Then again, TSS is in a different position and don't have to risk anything if they don't want to; should they not be happy with the product for whatever reason ("delays" come to mind), they can simply say "big deal, let's wait and/or look for alternatives and keep selling Macs as usual then". In contrast, there's no backup plan for the... ahem... "new Amiga", there would be a whole lot of outraged pre-order customers, and AmigaOS would be fscked and left stranded without hardware.

Since TSS have sold exactly 0 boards (see above...), that would hardly be surprising.

Now, now. I think you've been listening to Alan Redhouse, you're beginning to sound like Helgis75. ;)

Things are bad enough when AmigaOS users "only" have to pretend that there's a need to only be allowed to buy our hardware from an "Amiga dealer". If they went ahead and actually ordered an exclusive bloody custom job, then the expensive stench of the 1980's would really become too strong for me to stay.

Heh. No I won't. I don't dare to. Not until you've told me what a luffar is? :)
But yeah, I think Linux will be running on future Articia based POP derivates too. Oooh! Aaaah! Shock & amazement :-O
Maybe it\\\'s still possible to save AmigaOS  :rtfm:......

@Seehund:

I accidentally thought "luffar" meant the same as "luffer" means in Norwegian and Danish.

If you do a quick search for säl and luffer on google you should get the picture. You little "Knubbsäl" you ;-)

Ok, men va fan kallar ni dom där grejerna som sälen padlar i vattnet med?

Norsk: Luffer
Dansk: Luffer
Svensk: ?
Händer? Föter? Kalle Anka? Arne Anka? Absinth? Nei, inte absinth. Men va dååå??? :-)

Ursäkta at jag har några skrivfel här och där. Min svenska är lite otränad på sistonde... Talar bara svenska om jag har druckit :-)

@olegil
Bra fråga. Förmodligen skulle jag säga "fenor", men det känns inte helt rätt.

Its most definitely something that should come out in a few months I hope. This will be Amiga's first release, atleast the first release the majority of the world will know about. It needs to be as close to perfect as possible. I should think it'll do as well as OS/2, and hopefully as well as Mac, lets not even think about Windows yet.  don't forget OS/2 was outselling windows 3.1, it was best seller until Win95 came out. Alhotugh slightly  happying, I mention AMiga in front of one of my frineds( not really one too much into computers) he says: You mean those really old computers that can do all that really kicka** stuff? To which the response was 'yup'. Ends up he owns two  :-D  .
