In one of the AmiWest 2009 news articles here Inertial Computing is mentioned as one of the exibitors on the show. But nothing more about them is written in the article. The article did, however provide a link to their website: http://www.inertial.biz/

This was surprising reading, I must admit I have never heard of them before, and not heard about their projects either.
They have lots of interesting projects for classic Amiga on their site. Is this going anywhere or is it vaporware?
If its real, every project on their site should be worth their own news article on amiga.org.

Anyone know anymore of this company and their projects?

I don't know about the company but on the "Inertial Computing Original" page it mentiones Alex Perez as the founder.  He is the current leader of the AnubisOS project (An Amiga-like system based on the Linux Kernal for access to more drivers than present in AROS).  If it's the same guy, he also is on the Natami team.  His screen name is MrBIOS on AROS-exec.org and I think he posts on several other Amiga forums also.

The Wiki seems to only be a scratch pad of sorts.  They are all proposed projects that are being looked into.

I talked to him a bit at AmiWest. He did have a lot of developer-board type systems and really cool micro-sized computers. Didn't mention anything about Anubis tho.

Well, given that I've never sold, or tried to sell, anything that didn't actually exist, I thoroughly object to the Merlancia comparison.

For the last couple of years, I've been working for a start-up that was acquired by AMD earlier this year, but I've decided I'd like to resume pursuing Anubis OS, and would like to invite anyone who has an interest in such future-minded but past-inspired things to contact me directly. I will be at AmiWest again this year, and was present the last couple as well.

Towards that end, I've begun moving through the paces to revive http://www.anubis-os.org and would like to kindly request that people limit the rampant speculation to whatever degree they find themselves capable (which, for a meaningful minority of regular posters, would appear to be not at all).

well, why bother, because maybe, just maybe there is actually something along the lines of anubis being worked on? why try to revive a project that failed and was expected to fail while others deliver?

I'm sorry, but didn't Hyperion release an Amiga OS with a Linux-like structure to it called "AmigaOS 4.1?"  It doesn't have open source drivers, but has memory protection, runs legacy Amiga software, is still under development by programmers, and supports old and new hardware, albeit PPC based (helps with Endian coding and similar microcode).  It doesn't run on as much hardware as Linux, but does it really need to?  MorphOS runs on a smaller PPC base and is much less well documented. How many "Amiga-like" OS's are required?  With WinUAE (and the others) you can boot into an Amiga OS from dead cold and never know you weren't running on "native" hardware -- as if there was such a thing anymore.

Looks like a nice list of ideas.... Brainstorming is nice, but I wouldn't expect a release date on any of this stuff anytime soon.
