printing really big .tiff with small RAM
« on: June 20, 2008, 11:36:48 AM »
I need to print large .tiff (18600x18600, ~A0, 600DPI) on a plotter.
The drawing is about 350Mb uncompressed (9Mb with LZW), it is indexed color, 8-bit.
The problem is that the PC (running win2000) does not have enough physical RAM (I think it has 512Mb)

Photoshop opens the image, eventually, but when I try to print it, windows starts expanding virtual memory and never stops..

I might be able to try with acdsee pro, would that be more suitable? what settings might help?
(it is company's computer and I probably cannot install anything)
Better sorry than worry.
