The 500 is a fair amount deeper than the 1200, and some of the earlier monitors had fold down feet in the back to elevate them so the front half would rest nicely on the computer.  It wouldn't make much sense to do it with a 1200 since it wouldn't save you much space.

Hooray for ignorance!

The A570 does not give you 100% CDTV compatibility.

The CDTV obviously wasn't a huge success, but it was a forerunner in CD based home entertainment and was deliberately marketed to non-computer users as a home entertainment device, under the well-known Commodore brand.  The technology was new and the market didn't really exist yet, and unfortunately for Commodore their name wasn't enough to make them fly off the shelves.

Misquote me all you want, but the market did and does exist, albeit with far more capable technology.  DVD player, CD-based game console, anyone?

..and hey, how about that stinker AppleTV!?

The "weird-ass faux VCR" could play both video and games, so it can be compared to both DVD players and games consoles.

The AppleTV was just thrown in as another example of a product missing the mark.

I bet there's alot you don't understand.  You make it very clear in your posts, keep it up, it's entertaining.  The more useless crap you post, the more useless you appear.

Just keep digging yourself in deeper.

Most people agree it wasn't a successful product, but it isn't nearly as useless as you make it out to be.

..and no, I don't really care either way for the CDTV aside from the fact that it was a "cool looking black computer."

Are you arguing just because you have to or something?

Who's arguing?  I'm just trying to see how many dirty words I can get you to say.  I win!
