YOU should play with THIS!

It's interesting how some discussions on this board lead to discovering really cool things elsewhere. Since the topic of Amiga laptops resurfaced, I was wondering how Ben Heckendorn created his cases. I soon disovered the amazing world of CNC Routers... What amounts to a 3D printer! Talk about custom casework!

Do a little searching... Let's see what kind of sick mods we can come up with!

EDIT: They're great for engraving and mechanically etching PCBoards too! No more chemical etching!

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

Check out Hackaday.com . There are a few CNC projects mentioned there in the archives. Lots of people are doing this. As for PCB production without etching... I can't ever remember seeing one that did mm size spacing between tracks, and for the stuff i do thats unusable. Stuff is small these days and i have lots of stuff that requires sub mm spacing between pins.

The CNC stuff is very cool. Make anything you want, over and over again. Thats something AROS needs, something like COMEDI for aros. Maybe an AROS port of COMEDI.

Look into rapid prototyping. Lasers + goo = solid objects

@Weirddami

I've seen that stuff, but I doubt very seriously you'd find a system like that for under US$1000!
