Phase5 released alot of 175mhz BPPC boards.
They feature a 160mhz chip that when tested, was stable at 175mhz and beyond...

@Vincent

The SCSI controller chip normally sits on the top right there, where you have the empty SMD space. Shame it's not upgradeable.

Well, the serial number starts HAB which means No SCSI, 160MHz and 040/25.

So according to tBBoAH it is 160MHz.

No it's not. You can tell the processor speed from the serial number on the board. I have a 68040 as well, combined with a 200MHz. And I love it (the 040 does tend to get a bit hot, however...)

Must be a 3,5 multiplier yes, I had thought of changing the multiplier myself when I received my card back from P5 (they changed the Blizz timings from dual to single 50MHz) but after looking at it closer I decided my soldering skills weren't up to it :-).

Come to think of it....was the basic Blizz 160 or 166MHz?

@Vincent

Enjoy :-)

@Odin

So, I guess that's a 3.5x multiplier setting you have, assuming the 040 is still at 25MHz?

I've been meaning to remove the 50MHz crystal from my PPC card and using the 60MHz one to drive the whole thing for some time. Slightly faster 040 and presumably better synchronisation.

Not sure if my SCSI will like it, though :-/

I think so.  I meant to have a closer look at that goo before installing it but I forgot and I don't want the hassle of taking it out again (mobo is powered through the floppy).

Looks just like mine, I also have only one oscillator on it (Had two when I bought it, but then it was also a 160MHz and not a 175MHz one :-)).

What's the goo on the cooler? Glue?
