@Downix

Are you making this allegation in your capacity as a reseller of Genesi kit or as a private citizen?
Hate figure.

Normally I would not post to something like this, but you (yes, you :)) really ought to have better things to do than flame amitopia.

My guess is you would not have bought it anyway, now you have a problem with it, so you will not buy it EVEN MORE, but why discourage others and especially the author?

You do REALLY care if it is legal or not? It will hurt you in a serious way, because? It will hurt others in a serious way, because?

This has become far too typical and as someone else stated, I cannot see why anyone would bother doing anything for this community.

Sincerely.

-Kenneth Straarup.

Edit: Hmm, I'm blind, I admit it.

Personally, I think AmiDelf deserves some credit for doing this. I'm not a subscriber, but I believe he is doing this because he loves the Amiga as a computer (and not because he's worshipping any CEO).

And as for the competition:
Of course you've bloody got to be a member (subscriber) to enter the competition. It's the "you have to buy this product to enter the competition" that's illegal. I think in this case the wording is a bit wrong, because it's about membership in a club more than purchasing a product.

So cut the crap, cluebies.

Theres a Q+A on amigaworld.org as well as amigaworld.net.

Most of the answers start with "Im not sure I understand the question" ( translation problems perhaps ).

I just saw it. I understand why he couldn't answer. It's like, uhm, why aren't you giving us Kickstart 4.0 PPC? Eh? When have we said we would do that?

They haven't, Escom did. When was that, 95? Yeah, right.

KDH and Vesalia are Amiga dealers. And they need
the money to survive. Nevertheless none of them
has  ever made such a promotion longer than a few
days. Then it was stopped. Guess why.

Since, so many argues about this. I remoove the competition. We just want people to sign on and with such reputation. We learn from our misstakes. A magazine cant live with it so.

Here is how the paper magazine looks like. It's really alive:

As mentioned before. AmigaWorld Magazine dosent have any adverts for other things than its own things. With this, we hold a nice profile for the webpage.

The questions for Amiga Inc:
Well, those questions about Kickstart 4.0 and so on and some other questions, was done with people on #AmigaWorld irc channel on EFNET. Thats the main source and info irc channel for amigaworld.org Be sure not to talk about PC propaganda there :) that results in kicking...

@DaveP

I'm not a reseller of a Genesi kit. Thereby, leaves one option, that
of a private citizen, doesn't it?

But I'm not the only person with this feeling, based on what has been
publshed over the years.  Fleecy does need to learn to remember his
own history, even if this was an innocent slip-up with no malicious
intent.
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.

Why wouldn't he be a private citizen reguardless of his standings with a private company?  What does a company have to do with one's citizenship?

Reading the comments on this thread really make me feel quite sad!

It's a shame to see what the Amiga "community" has been reduced to:

1. Somebody sees the name "AmigaWorld" and decides its a great opportunity to have a dig at Amiga Inc. Nice one Dammy, try getting your facts right next time - have you even apologised to AmiDelf yet?

2. People complain about the legalities of giving away a prize so much that AmiDelf decides to withdraw the competition... I hope you guys are happy now!

One question: Why?!  :-?
