- article on how to expand your Amiga 500
- guide on how to install SFS (SmartFileSystem)
- layout changed
- you can *WIN!* SpiderUSB 2.0 from ELBOX by giving Amitopia (our paper magazine) a good slogan. You have to order Amitopia to be a part of the competition. This one ends 31.07.2003

Have a nice week, and I have to mention something. Norways national day is on Saturday 17th of May. Lots of things happends this day in all areas in Norway. If you didn't know that, you know now :)

Gee, I wonder who is bankrolling this new fiasco.  Oh, new coupon, err, ahh, uhm, membership drive perhaps?

Eh? Is there any possibility you could cut down on the caffeine so we could understand you, Dammy? What are you talking about?

Such deals are legal in Norway? Marketing like this is illegal in most (if not all?) EU countries.

Bankroling, ie funding of this adventure.  Becoming a print magazine takes a bit of up front capital. I'm wondering who is coughing up the money to do it.

@Dammy et al

Your slagging off the wrong people, this isn't Amigaworld.net that you love to bitch about.  This is AmigaWorld.org which is the website to Amitopia magazine.

I know that some people get a little overexcited at the thought of making digs at anything related to A Inc, but a simple check of the link would have shown that you were barking up the wrong tree.

Well. Everyone wich orders Amitopia enters the competition. Thats how it is.

Norway isnt inside EU. There are lots of magazines here promoting products when order. We have a competition going on. So the price for Amitopia aint higher than usual because of the competition. Its a method for getting people to subscribe.

Amitopia is a Amiga magazine in paper, and needs all the money to survive. I hope you understand now.

Later on, Amitopia will start with normal competitions too. Just visit amigaworld.org and you might win things without ordering Amitopia.

Please support, then better support..

So you're saying this is legal in Norway?

Ah so every new customer gets SpiderUSB 2.0 ?

It is still illegal (in most civiliced countries) and definetely morally dubious. There are laws forbidding this kind of marketing for a reason.

And this makes illegal activities ok? Just because you do it "for a good cause" doesn't make these kind of actions legal. To exaggerate: You don't rob a bank to feed starving children.

Perhaps you should not be running this magazine if there aren't enough sales to make it stay afloat?

No this is not illegal here in the UK (which unfortunately is stuck in the EU) to run private competitions for subscribers of magazines and services, many magazines do this, some charities here even do this.  It is not morally dubious either to do this.

The law your refering to is to prevent unregulated lotteries.

I don't know why people bother giving up thier time to do things for the collective of ungrateful b******* known as the "Amiga Community"

Um...

Some of Fleecy's comments directly contradicts his other comments
found elsewhere (the other amigaworld, various articles Fleecy has
written over the years, the Amiga executive updates, etc).  By the
timeline given in this interview, we hit a statistical impossibility:

The decision to start AOS4 was made *after* the original delivery
date.

Fleecy's starting to make the classical blunder of all con artists,
forgetting what has been stated beforehand so they can be caught.

Face it, Amiga Inc never had any plans of delivering a product.  They
were a shell game from day one.  It's a game to them, seeing how long
they can keep this line going before people realize they've been
duped.  All while their executives laugh to the bank, having embezzled
the investors money.

@Downix

Are you making this allegation in your capacity as a reseller of Genesi kit or as a private citizen?
Hate figure.
