i know i refer to the PC a lot: this is because i have been away from Amiga for a number of years now and when i was dealing with amiga i was like <10 years old (18 now). but, since then i have turned into a PC guy. thus, i have an AOL DSL (2MBps) connection.
if i wanted to use Amiga Internet - is there anyway to intertwine these?

looks pretty essential that PCMCIA card! when your a heavy PC user too!
thing is, theres no point in the PCI MCat(think its called that!) hardware now: may aswel get this and then i can merely transfer ADFs to workbench and then use the ADF command to put to an Amiga disk!
kill two birds with one stone right (i.e. do the above AND connect amiga to internet VIA PC)

1 - by the way, can you only connect to internet on AMIGA if you have at least OS3.5?

What amigakit is selling there is the easy way to set things up.
You could also find all the required components by yourself:
- 2nd hand PCMCIA card (from ebay for example, compatibility list here (http://www.g-mb.de/pcmcia_e.html))
- PCMCIA network drivers from aminet (http://www.aminet.net/search.php?query=pcmcia+network)
- AmiTCP/IP, available for free (http://ftp.funet.fi/pub/amiga/gnu/tcpip/AmiTCP-bin-30b2.lha), AmiTCP/IP installation guide (http://www.acc.umu.se/~patrikax/amiga/guides/AmiTCP_Install/)

AmiTPC/IP works OS2 and up.
2 - and what program is it?
AmiTCP/IP or Miami. There are some other older TCP/IP stacks aswell, but these are the two available. Miami is only available as time limited demo version.

A renamed version of AmiTCP (called Genesis) is part of OS3.9, but for 3.1, you have to install it separately.
A demo version of AmiTCP can be found here (http://main.aminet.net/package.php?package=comm/tcp/AmiTCP-demo-40.lha) on Aminet (http://main.aminet.net) - this is fully functional (it contains a "nag" dialogue box when initially started but is fine from there on).

Nope.
WB 3.5 includes Miami demo, it disconnects after 30 mins. Workbench 3.5 was advertised to include full version of TCP/IP but it never happened.
WB 3.9 includes illegal copy of AmiTCP/IP (http://www.amigau.com/aig/amitcp392.txt) (Genesis).
Needless to say, Haage & Partner (the entity responsible for AmigaOS 3.5 and 3.9) is not my favorite. They also screwed over Amithlon author (http://www.umilator.net/faq.shtml) (archive.org cache (http://web.archive.org/web/20050205045331/http://www.umilator.net/faq.shtml)).
The best options are using the AmiTCP/IP nag-demo-version InTheSand pointed out, or using the free AmiTCP/IP GPL-version I already pointed out in the earlier post.

are these programs designed so that they already KNOW (personification of the amiga program!) that they will be connecting VIA a PC Internet connection?

Well, assuming the PC is set up properly to route traffic, you should just need to select a static LAN IP address and then set your PC as the gateway. Nameservers should be the ones your ISP uses (unless if your PC acts as a DNS proxy, in which case you can use the PC IP for dns aswell).

Offtopic: Did the author eventually got paid? It surely is bad manner to sell something like that in such a way.

AmiTCP/IP author: No.
Workbench 3.9 is sold even today.
However, it should be pointed out that Cloanto seems to be doing the right thing (http://amigaforever.com/kb/5-107.html) with Amiga Forever.
