Well, while the Efika MX Smarttop is a bit bigger and a bit more expensive, it's also ahelluvalot more usable, and I mean usable for *real stuff*.
True, but for Braben's purposes (giving students a dirt-cheap machine to do a lot of tinkering on) it's quite suitable. I hope that this works out the way he thinks it will - it's high time kids were learning how to program again.
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/MT-32/D-10, Oberheim Matrix-6, Yamaha DX7/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini, Ensoniq Mirage/SQ-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, Hohner String Performer

Computer genius, David Braben, well known to us as the programmer from Elite and Elite II:Frontier
...

As in a dude who used to use/program for miggies now has a cute device he made all by himself and a friend.

Is it about OS4?  no.  Is it about MorphOS?  no.  Is it about AROS?  no.  Is it about Amiga hardware?  unknown.  Is it about Amiga People?  DING DING DING!
