Amiga have released an article from a past issue of CAM, titled "A short story on the V50 DOS Library".  It covers enhancements in the latest version, as well as a little bit of the history of it.  It is available from the CAM section of their site.

For subscribers, the current issue should now be online!

To tip my hat, good work.

I could do a suckerpunch here, but I won't.

The only thing I'd have to suckerpunch on, really, is regarding the TripOS file header.  See, I've seen that header before, as TripOS has been open source for a number of years now.  Beyond that, a good read as it does go into detail on what they had to do for a revised DOS.library.  Perhaps, if the MOS team were willing, they could post a comparison story, to show how the two teams worked toards the same solution from two different angles.  (One with source, one with specs)

Whats the real problem then, all you are missing out is the notification that always shows up on here and elsewhere anyway, it does not alter the login procedure in any way, so you would still have access to the CAM.

Unfortunately, the LogOn process that the OS.Amiga website uses is no better than what Yahoo uses!

I mean, come on, who is going to be runing Netscape4.0 or IE on an A2000 under AmigaOS3.5?

I paid my $50 early enough that it was before the counter was on that web page -- shouldn't my access to Cam be somewhat less troublesome?

@alx

Thanks for posting.  Next time, I think something like this could deserve two items (Wayne?).  Also, I edited the item (earlier in the day) to emphasize the new issue availability.

@Downix
C'mon stop baiting.

@HMetal
You don't have to take the bait.

Targhan

so you cant login as you have *forgot* your login email and password ?

must be that as you could just use your old email address and password to login and change the email address to your new one.

if you have forgotten it, then just email webmaster@amiga.com and ray will help you out im sure.

@createcoms

To whom are you sending e-mail?  If you aren't getting a reply regarding CAM access, then you certainly haven't e-mailed me.

Try webmaster@amiga.com on for size.

Don't be silly.  IE and/or Netscape are not required.  The site works 100% with most browsers including IE, Netscape, Opera, Konqueror, the Gnome/E! browser (the name escapes me), IBrowse and, with a little luck and coaxing, AWeb.

Also, the login process is perfectly fine. Tthe login process for the AmigaOS site is really no different than any other site that uses PHP sessions.

Most login troubles can be blamed on browsers that cache pages when they are directed otherwise or those that have disabled/refused cookies.

IBrowse works 100% as long as you have cookies enabled and saved.

AWeb is particularly troublesome with its caching and requires a lot of reloads/refreshes. Turn off caching, if possible, and it will be fine too.

the Gnome/E! browser (the name escapes me)

For the "Gnome browser" part: Epiphany and/or Galeon (both use Gecko and they work flawlessy).
