Description: As part of a A4000D kit I bought from ebay, I got a Philips CM8833-II monitor. The fault was the colour/video cutting out when the cable was moved.
The cause was the video input socket on the monitor where it connects to the main pcb. The solder joints had broken allowing the socket to move about. The fix was easy, just remove all old solder on the pins and re-solder. Problem with these is that the socket does not fix onto something solid, it uses the connection to the pcb for the support.

If your fear is that the connections will break free of the board again, you could always solder small pieces of wire from the pins themselves to nearby vias or contacts, while leaving the pins soldered where they are.

Chances are that with an old piece of hardware, it won't happen again anytime soon.
