Virtual karting
« on: December 18, 2013, 10:38:14 PM »
It is excellent game, but those dark raster lines doesn't look good and are not needed with 040/060

Is there any way to get rid of them???

Would it be possible to modify code so that they are removed? Anyone interested?

there was a virtual karting 2 which AFAIR removes the raster lines which were only there because most Amigans wanted to play 3D games on a 7 mhz 512 k A500, and wondered why the platform was dying and they never got any good games....

I'm prety sure that it is impossible to remove raster lines even Virtual karting 2.

Could you tell me how/where to do it??

It says here you can switch between 2x2 and 2x1 mode.

Some how they are not visible in that video, but they are there. Unless somebody tell me how to get rid of them.

My understanding is that VK1 and VK2 in 2x2 mode display in PAL/NTSC but skip every other line so the vertical resolution is around 100 lines. VK2 in 2x1 mode is all PAL/NTSC lines so it's around 200 lines, but like all PAL/NTSC non interlace modes on a decent monitor you see the scanlines where the extra interlaced lines would go.

So it depends on what you mean by raster lines being visible.

Have you switched to 2x1 mode?

I haven't tried it lately, I can see extra scanlines as a black lines with 2x1.

Could it be possible to remove them? Some kind of hack?
