sry Doom3 fans, but has anyone played GloomDeluxe with gpx card? I cant get over Gloom and AB3D ;) Gloom was 101% action and adrenaline rush in 1 player mode, even better with 2 players. AB3D had unforgettable mood and was as playable as HalfLife, pitty it was only 2x2 :(((

is AB3D for sale somewhere? I'm a great fan of Gloom and would like to see what it looks and plays like. :)

AB3D is still one of the best 3d-shooters I have played.
Don't know why really; I have played Half-life, QuakeIII
and a wide selection of other 3d-games afterwards, but
still I could go back to play AB3D today and enjoy it. It still
has a great atmosphere and very special gameplay. And
surprisingly, the graphics still feel "OK" for me. It's not en
par with modern games of course (not by far), but it
works and once one start playing you just forget about it -
you see where everything is and you never have any
problems playing just because of low-res graphics.

AB3dII never rose to the heights of its predecessor. Apart
from being buggy, slow and very difficult, something was
lacking in the atmosphere. (But it has some effects that
is still very nice- in one place there is this completely
dark area - and you don't have any light with you at all.
Somewhere in there is an elevator to a room below. When
having walked around in there for a while the elevator
moves up. On it is a huge robot with four flashlights
mounted all over, suddenly flooding the place in bright light
and machine-gun fire. I don't think I ever have jumped so
high in my seat since.)

A great game. Have to load it up soon again.

From the preview version I recall Gloom was absolutely hilarious, for an hour anyway. Don't know how it works in the long run.
AB3D had the very nice aspect of limited supplies, which forced a certain calm attitude despite the horrors you were facing, lest you get anywhere - I got to level 15 before I lost interest. But after that I played the two-player matches! TKG was a lot harder with the 4th level being too harsh for my skills. It might have worked better with mouse+keyboard controlling but this wasn't available if I recall correctly. Stunning visual and audio fx, and speed was ok with 68060 and TKGTurbopatch.

Too bad it won't run on UAE without color glitches. :/
