What is the best car racing game for A1200? I have a PSX and our favorite is Need for Speed III. But need something good for new Amiga. Prefer something that can do multiple players.
Thanks,
Neofree

I hardly play games at all any more, but back when I did Stunt Car Racer was my favorite.

Good game. I played this on the A500. I hope it will work on the A1200 aswell.
However, I am specifically looking for something that uses the new AGA chipset. Maybe even take advantage of 030 board if present. And definately multiplayer.
Thanks,
Neofree

Try Skidmarks2 (it's AGA I think), Supercars2 and Lotus2.
All 3 of 'em are among the best amiga racers...

Stuntcar Racer and Indianapolis 500 are both the best.
-
The best has to be Geoff Crammond's F1 Grand Prix. It isn't exactly multiplayer, but there's a high score list (and -system) on the Internet, and you can tune it for accelerated Amiga (20 fps instead of 8). No AGA support but what did the PC VGA version use the extra colours for? Pavement hues!

XTreme racing is a great game though my favourite is still Microprose F1GP :-)
-
Jag XJ220 and Xtreme Racing (on an 030) are two of the best - although Crazy Cars 2 weren`t half bad either!
The best feature in a racing game?
Where you go under the lorries in Lotus 2 and get "Yee-hah!" - Class! :-)
-
4D Sports Driving was also great :-)
-
Skidmarks, Extreme Racing & Payback for my driving games.

Yup. Nothing else came close.

Has anybody ever linked two computers together, with Stuntcar Racer? That game is the best of my 2 chosen driving games.
I don`t play these much, as GT3 is damn good. I like realistic physics. I`m quite fussy when it comes to physics. Even though Stuntcar Racer doesn`t have much. One of the only games where I don`t care one bit.

Yes, I have linked two Amigas to play Stunt Car Racer many times, its fab! Also, you can link an Amiga to an Atari ST and play :)

Really? I have to try that! :-)

We used to have 2 amiga's permenantly networked for such things :)
ahh the memory's, StuntCar, Skidmarks, Gloom, Battle Cars, and more I cant remember right now :)
-
For me, it's
- Supercars II,
- Lotus II,
- StuntCar(linked),
- Skidmarks (AGA),
-
Nitro was one of my favourites too, and then there was Jupiter Master Drive or something like that?
-
Stunt Car Racer and Lotus2...
... and they aint much fun without the link!!
Link and drive!! ;-)

Crazy Cars III was awesome, I think it got released for PC in 96 and renamed to Lamborghini Challenge.
-
that would be Lotus II & X-treme racing.
Cheers :pint:

It was released as Lamborghini American Challenge for Amiga too. I just checked my games collection :-)
-
Stuntcar racer and supercars II. There's nothing better than getting together with your friend, having a few beers and then blowing him up with front missiles!!! :-D :-D :-D
-
Stunt car racer and Lotus III ( no, not II... ).
-
I remember a game for my A1200 I think it was called "Rally Championship". It was a 3d Isometric type game, but the graphics and gameplay were great. I've still got that in the loft, so I'll have to dig it out and relive my youth!
-
I like test drive 2. I still play it once or twice a week even. I love getting in the corvette.
-
it's between Lotus III and SuperCars II for me.....SuperCars II I think.
Here some other I like:
Any of the Lotus Trilogy
Extreme Racing
Skidmarks
Nitro
F1GP
Roadkill
Cheers,

- Super Skidmarks
- Formula One Grand Prix
Those games are the same amounts of fun now as they were back in the days.
Just recently played Lotus 2 again on my Amiga, but looking at today's games it's hard to find where the fun was in that nowadays. It hasn't aged well.
-
Burnout, Xtreem Racing, Alien F1 Racing
-
Roadkill looked neat, but i'd still prefer Stuntcar, XTR or Supercars.
-
friday night, 2 sixpacks, couple of good friends and Skidmarks & XTreme racing!!!!! In 2003 too:)
Before i went to army, last 2 days i played with my friend Worms like 14 and 16 hrs nonstop :) in the morning he went to school and slept on the desk and after school came back to my place and A1200 booted up again:)
I dont need technically up to date games to A1, i would pay 20$ without thinking to buy remakes of classic games, the mood is primar, warcraft3 and gta3 are secondary;)
Miggy and her games still rock
