Title: My new amiga corner
Post by: utri007 on November 13, 2012, 08:21:57 AM
Since I bought a new house about a month ago, I've one room decicated to my retro computers :) I have one warm room behind of my garage.

I've several amigas and some other computers, in picture 3 amigas and C64.

Latest project in table, A500 rev7 mobo, 1mb chip hack just soldered and kickstart 2.05, GVP HD8+ with several hundred whdload games inside.

Project before that in right side in on the shelf, A1200, Apollo 040 40 mhz and slim DVD burner fitted inside. Hardest part was found reliable way to connect 2.5" hd to 3.5" cable.

My main Amiga under a table, A1200 in micronic tower, Blizzard 060 66mhz, Delfina lite and GVP Spectrum.

C64 has a disk drive emulator on top of it

Old laptop is use to transfer files through serial to A500

That 500 could do with a bit of retro bright in my opinion. That GVP harddrive is way kewl!

p.s. - notice the way i spelt kewl?

I tried several slim CD-rom drives and wasn't easy to find one wich worked with Amiga.

Current one is slave and hd is master wich is not typical/right setup. Another problem was to found 2.5->3.5 ide adapter wich is supportive enough.

My problem was ide adapter for HD, not for CD-rom.

CD-rom itsefl can be a problem, most of them seems to be cable select wich doen't work with amiga, some of them seems to be master but some reason I didn't get it work.

My set up is IDEfix with 4x ports IDE  adapter with HD on port O, DVD on port 1 never had a problem at all.
I have changed HD for cf and again no problem.

How did you get fit dvd drive to A1200 case?? There is no room for any adapter in left side of case?

I've just cable with one 2.5 and two 3.5 ide connectors.

I bought to 2.5 -> 3.5 adapters and one of them was too sensitive for moving computer etc. Ques wich one? ;)

Hi Cut a slot in the back of the case and the slim dvd drive fits perfectly between the back of the floppy and the keyboard flat cable I then cut another slot for my cf so dont have to open the case to swap the cards
