Title: Help With kickstart 3.1 rev 5 motherboard

Hi!
I recently bought a kickstart 3.1 chip. I also booght an eprom adapter since I have a rev 5 board. With the kickstart chip came the following instructions: "Before installing the rom chip, you have to solder a connection between pin 1 and pin 31 on the socket. Then bend up pin 31 of the ROM and connect it to pin 21. IMPORTANT PIN 31 MUST NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE SOCKET"

But I got the impression I didnt need to solder if I bought the EPROM adapter? So should I solder or not?  :-\

Would help if we could see adapter.

As I know the ones I make need no altering. That was only needed if using a piggy back socket and altering it manually.

Hi,

Sorry had to remove image, you displayed your cloanto key.
It would be better to email the place you bought it from and ask them to clarify.

EDIT:- It looks same as ours, just plug and play.
