Title: [SOLVED] Problem with WHDLoad on X1000
Post by: SteveH on April 28, 2021, 11:38:31 AM
I've upgraded WHDLoad from v11 (I think it was) to v18.6 as the earlier version wouldn't load some games without being the registered version.
But now I find whenever I try to run a game via emulation, I get a System Requester asking for volume T to be inserted and the game won't load; the same thing happens with v17, too.
Anyone know how to resolve this?
I'm using OS4.1FE2 on my X1000.

Well, do you have a T: assign?
Normally it points at RAM:T.

Yes, I have that in a line in my S:Startup-Sequence

But do you have it in the startup-sequence of your emulated environment?

Good point :) I hadn't after I first upgraded WHDLoad but I added this after reading kolla's response, below, so the assign is now in the startup-sequence of my emulated environment. The issue still occurs.
Having not examined the contents of my Emulation drawer for some time, I've realised its structure is a bit of a mess, with files and discs all over the place, so I am going to re-install the entire Emulation drawer and see if that resolves it.

The startup-sequence for whdload-to-uae should be:

Code: [Select]
makedir ram:env ram:t

assign envarc: sys:envarc
assign env: ram:env
assign t: ram:t

copy envarc: env: all quiet

c:setpatch quiet
c:iprefs

dh1:
execute whdload-startup

Thanks for all the advice. I've re-installed my Emulation drawer and downloaded the latest version of WHDLoad, and now everything is working again. You'll have to excuse me, I'm off for another game of Pinball Fantasies ...
