What about if I just want to burn eprom, but not install OS3.1.4 update. Files on update floppy doens't seem to be ready modules?

Please refer to section 9.3 of the AmigaOS 3.1.4 FAQ.

From the way how the code looks, I would say that this is essentially an Agfa program that was originally developped for PC, and then ported over to Amiga (with more or less success), taking the concepts of the PC workflow with it. The same also applies to the "bullet.library" which is actually an Agfa (compugraphic) library that was (rather poorly) ported to Amiga, and then, with lots of effort, fixed by Olaf.

As always, thanks for the insights!

Did this make it into the bug tracker?

A different observation for the CMD tool.  I'm sending the same number bytes each time but the CMD notify text is reporting an accumulation of bytes.   That is, the text says 172 bytes sent to CMD_File2 but in reality only 86 bytes were sent to that file.

Code: [Select]
5> run cmd notify multiple
[CLI 1]
5> CMD redirection of parallel.device installed

5> echo >PRT: "Test"
Redirected 86 bytes from parallel.device to RAM:CMD_File1
5> echo >PRT: "Test"
Redirected 172 bytes from parallel.device to RAM:CMD_File2
5> echo >PRT: "Test"
Redirected 258 bytes from parallel.device to RAM:CMD_File3
5>

No, simply on the basis that it is fixed already. (-:

Any comment on an aRIN sequence where aRIN sends a reset  plus init sequence.  As it is now, it is possible that the printer could have some configuration set that does not get set back to the original prefs by init alone.  Init only sets mostly prefs but if user changes something outside of prefs then that printer code does not go back to default with aRIN alone

trackdisk wasn't changed for 3.1.4,

I still seeing trackdisk stack issue and thought I'd share a dump with segtracker enabled.

Since there is unlikely to be any support from the Cybergrafx author to assist in updating the AmigaOS, is there another option available to those of us that use the Cybergrafx system?  Is there a replacement RTG system that works with Cybervision cards?

Disappointed in the news that the author refused to help.  I am tired of the turf wars in the Amigaverse.  I have been an Amiga user since the 90s and love the computer and the OS.  Personally, I would like to see AmigaOS go open source and get ported to modern hardware.  I understand there are things like AROS and MorphOS, but they are not the same.  For me, and I understand that there are hardware purists, the experience is the OS, not really the hardware.  I am glad that people are starting to release opensource versions of hardware and software though.  We need more of that.  Sorry for getting on a soapbox, but even the in-fighting in this thread was exhausting.  Aren't we all here for the same reason...the love of the Amiga system?

The Picasso96 RTG system supports Cybervision-cards just fine. I’m using it on my a3000 with Cybervision64 right now!

Not all of them, unfortunately. Due to lacking hardware on my end, there is no support for the CyberVision64PPC for example.

There exists no CyberVision64PPC, so that doesn’t matter.

There is the CyberVision64 (S3 Trio64 chip) and CyberVision64/3D (S3 Virge) for which there is support in P96, and there is CyberVisionPPC (3D Labs/TI Permedia2) for which there is no support from P96.

Ah ok.  Well, one of the two cards supported is nice.  :D

I guess the same goes for the BVision card as well then? As far as I can remember, they were permedia2 based too?

Too bad for the people with that incredible expensive piece of hardware :)
Have to say I’m a bit surprised that p96 did not support these two cards.
Was there any special reason why it never got p96 support back then?

There is a beta driver for it, but I afraid that it is in a non-operational condition. Without the proper hardware, I afraid I will not be able to get it into a working condition.

starting up a new boot partition for my A4000 with OS3.1.4 update 1 and wondering if I should still install CyberPatcher and HSMathLibs which worked great under OS3.9 with my CS-MKIII or will these conflict with anything in OS3.1.4 ?

Hi all,

Finally got my recapped A1200 back and rebuilt. I’m at the point where I’ve plugged in my Blizzard 1230IV accelerator with SCSI kit and connected to it is an external D2 Electronique CD ROM. Using the Blizzard Unit Control app it appears as:

Board 0 Unit 0 Lun 0 CD-ROM CR-506 8S0404-0 S

I've copied CD0 to DEVS:DOSdrivers and configured it like this:

DEVICE=1230scsi.device
UNIT=0

And I’m able to send an eject signal and have the tray respond and open correctly.

I’m using Workbench 3.1.4 and understand it supports a CD file system but simply putting a CD in the drive nothing appears. So:

Unit ID appears to be correctly set.
SCSI kit appears to be OK.
SCSI cable appears to be OK.

Can anyone advise how I proceed from here?  Have I missed a config step? Do I need to download and install a CD file system, for example?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Gryfon
