Hello everybody

I decided to spend my last Saturday evening catering to my A1200. It has been running AmigaOS 3.1.4 for over a year now. I managed to upgrade to iBrowse 2.5.4 without problem but I ran into issues with AmiSSL 4.9. Now, I already have AmiSSL 4.6 installed so I supposed this would have gone smoothly. Unfortunately, after pressing the Install for Real and selecting Amiga OS 3.x the installer goes into a deadlock and displays the 'ZZZ' cloud. It then remains in that state. I tried to enable logging but after rebooting the Amiga so as to open the log (file in use), I couldn't find anything helpful.
Does anybody have had similar experience with AmiSSL 4.9 and is there a solution?

Regards,
George

I would have tried to have snoopdos running and pay pattention to what goes on. The AmiSSL installer attempts to maintain a heck lot of certificate files (ca certs) which (depending on disk, filesystem etc) can take quite some time. There is no disk activity when it “freezes”?

(And it would be really nice if AmiSSL distribution could be split into seperate lha files for the different platforms, the whole package is ridiculously large to download an unpack on lower spec/connected systems)

@kolla Actually, I let it run for around 4-5 minutes. You think it might take much longer than that?
I didn't notice much activity on the HD LED but that might have been my perception.

I cannot see any disk activity. It has been in this (waiting ZZZ) mode for over 10 minutes now. The annoying thing is that I cannot get any feedback as to what it is waiting for. My Installer is Installer NG 1.5. I'll try using SnoopDOS as recommended. Hope it is easy to use since I've never used it before.

Hi all

Before I went to all this trouble I decided to download the AmiSSL-4.9.lha from Aminet this time. initially, I had downloaded it from a link of the IBrowse website. The installer worked perfectly well thereafter. Odd thing is why didn't the lha uninstaller complain about corrupt files with the previous version I had been using?
