Where is everybody?
« on: September 28, 2019, 08:02:24 PM »
Why is nobody online at any given time or are they just hidden somehow?
At most there are about five members logged in. Why is nobody here even at American time? ???
Edit
I'm in Europe, btw.

Maybe because Facebook has taken over. Maybe because the Apollo forums are more exciting and maybe because Trevor uses Amiga Future to post any non-news regarding Tabor.

Just saying...

We're just waiting for Babylonian Twins to be kickstarted for the Amiga or the next Amiga meet or the next tweak to OS3.1.4! Hardly riveting to be honest.

We should all be doing Amiga art to enter Pixel Vixen's Amiga Art Competition anyway! Hopefully that's the reason everyone's busy 😉

That social media crap, i get it. But the real informations come from the Amiga forums. Everybody knows that. In Europe, an average member attendance is about once a day, at least( can't prove this, anyway).
This forum is supposed to be THE point of attraction regarding Amiga in north America. But it feels like the Fermi-paradoxon... :-\

......nor am I an alien from the Milky Way but this is STILL my home page and refresh the page at least once every couple of hours - to my disappointment for lack of posts! I am glad however that there are some of us that have not completely abandoned the forum. I have been real busy also with the house repairs in prep for the big move to Mississippi! The thing that gets me about everyone defecting to Disgracebook is, how can they stand scrolling up and down those limited pages with all the advertising!? TTYTT, I'm kinda getting tired of the the extremely convoluted OS3.X threads too. I don't even read them any more. Never give up! Never surrender!  8)

I always used to come to A.org first but recently, even for a classic user, Amigaworld.net has more frequent posts and more interesting content. Probably heresy to say it but I think they should merge the two sites.

I still come by here one or two times every day. There is still a place for forums like these on line. Social media is more "immediate", but this information is searched and can be easily used for years. It is a bit slower moving, but the quality is sometimes better.

I would prefer people making announcements etc here and, if really needed, post about the informations put up here on social media afterwards, so that ppl always have to come here to get their Amiga fix. :)

Completely agree. Many forums are a great resource for information. It is not seldom one stumbles upon something helpful posted many, many years ago.  :) Hopefully Amiga.org, Amigaworld.net and others will be Online for years to come.

I used to spend all my time here.   Then EAB started to take over and then them taking this site down for sooooooooooooooooo long for an upgrade seemed too kill it off.  Hardly come here now.

I don't agree facebook too over.   Facebooks are different.  EAB is still pretty busy .

This reminds me of the BBS. I hope the Amiga sites stay up.

Just don't look for updates only.

Post if you have something done with your Amiga yourself  here.

You have fixed an issue? Found a solution to a Problem? Post it here. Link to SM so others can find it here.

It is just one tiny step more. This one step might decouple you from the hazards of SM for your own well.

I log in from time to time. Though I am a new user on this forum, I am no stranger to Amiga's.

Simples  :)
It was Saturday and I tend to lurk here most week days...

Sometimes I just don't login at all.  But I drive by almost every day.

Gotta get my fix! (twitch-twitch)

I lurk around ever couple of weeks just to see if I've missed any thing new.
To me, many threads tend to be rehashes of other threads 2,5,10,15 years ago.
There are exceptions,  and I will quietly follow a few stories now and then.
On rare occasions you might even find me on the Asha Sunday IRC. :)
And you can see by you 300+ reads that there's no shortage of lurkers.

Why am I posting now?.... Well you seemed like a nice person so...
