$1,806.42 conversion into US dollars at the moment.

That would probably buy half to three quarters of an X1000 in a few months. What was that buyer thinking?
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

According to Amiga Forever on Facebook, the roms have been dumped and it's booting successfully under Amiga Forever...

"Amiga Forever Running Walker Prototype OS
Before selling his precious Walker Amiga prototype, Nicholas Blachford graciousl...y shared a dump of the 3.2 beta ROM and disk files with us.

As you can see, the unmodified content runs just fine in Amiga Forever. It was nice to see that the Walker also had Cloanto's Personal Paint installed."

The owner probably hasn't even gotten it home yet, lets give him a chance. Once he has it, I imagine he will dump the rom and such. The case, I'm thinking someone shoudl come out with a Walker style case for the minimig or something.

Please let someone come up with case replicas. I would buy one!

Just out of interest, does anyone know if the Walker OS is any different from 3.1, beyond supporting the Walker's hardware and possibly a few bugfixes? Or would the ROM dumps be purely of historical interest?

I would imagine whatever the ROMs contain would benefit the community, in one way or another. What I'm interested in is if we can get the owner to dump the workbench it contains, then see if the ROM and bench will boot another system.

I imagine it'll just be 3.1 with support from booting from CD.  Probably with a new splash screen on startup.

Nothing too dramatic.

Come to think of it, would it be possible to make a custom KS ROM to enable a 1200 to boot from CD?

God, wouldn't it be nice to be able to restore your Amiga HD from CD ROM by simply sticking in a CD and letting it boot just like Windoze, instead of buggering around with floppy disks, CDs, patches, etc.
