I think there may be some typos in which model they are for.

Hi AmigaKit,

Just to let you know, the link for your UK store doesn't work.  I checked all the other store links and they all seem to work fine.

Re new accelerators: Very exciting!

I preordered the A600 accelerator and now it's gone from the list!  Did I get the last one?!

It's not that they can't install them.  They just have to do it manually.

In testing, Jens tried a "Force" install and a few midichlorians transferred to the board.  It resulted in the 2-1-1-1 burst trying to run at 256-128-1024-32768, which unfortunately was too fast for the on board RAM to handle...

Realistically, the average Jedi probably wouldn't have the same type of midichlorian-board transfer rate as Jens, but he's being safe, and I think they needed it for RoHS compliance too..

p.s.  I "HOPE" my wife got my hints and an ACA 1230/28 will be under the tree!!!!!
Amiga 1200 w/ ACA1230/28 - 4G CF, MAS Player, ext floppy, and 1084S.
Amiga 500 w/ 2M CHIP and 8M FAST RAM, DCTV, AEHD floppy, and 1084S.
Amiga 1000 w/ 4M FAST RAM, DUAL CF hard drives, external floppy.

Can someone give me an in-depth explanation of what this means:

"Very efficient 2-1-1-1 burst design"

Thanks!

AH.

2 clock cycles for access setup, and 1 clock cycle for the first and each of three successive accesses based on the initial setup.

With the 1200 boards, what is the difference between the 28 and 56?  Is it just the 68030 chip and possibly crystal? Could one buy the 28 and upgrade it to the 56 by replacing the 68030 with a 50mhz version and switching the crystal?  Just wondering why it is costing about twice as much if it is just that.  I kind of expected more memory (128mb) or something like that to make the price differential more appealing.

@ShawnDude

Everything on these bards is hard-soldered so good luck in trying to replace the '030 on the 28 MHz board.  Also, I heard that the CPLD is programmed differently on the two boards.

-edit-
The SDRAMs are kind of rare memories so that's why they're all the same capacity for the 1200 regardless of the clock speed.
