A4000 + lots of stuff
« on: July 19, 2009, 11:07:23 PM »
Hi
I still have A4000 in my garage. I was going to use it, but I've got too many computers I'm afraid ;)
Now I'm going to sell it. Last time I used it... several months ago. It was last year I think.
I had some problems with that Amiga. I didn't have sound in one channel. When I replaces most (maybe all of them) capacitors it solved the problem. There was a problem with the joystick port - sorted out. I had even problem with TOD chip and then I had to do a little bit more work to fix it. And now when all seem to be fully working I don't want to use it any more. :)
I'm gonna sell the computer with everything in it (16MB fast RAM, SCSI controller, 18GB SCSI HDD,... ), mouse(s), joysticks, keyboard, monitor 1084S, all the cables, some 3,5" disks, ... I don't remember what else, but I'm sure I can find something more.
I can provide some pictures if anybody's interested.
Does anyone want the stuff?

I'm in the UK so Bristol isn't a problem.

I'm definately interested but would like some pictures of the inside if possible, i.e. battery area, replaced caps etc.

I've got some pictures. You have to give me your email (I'm going to send the pictures straight to your inbox).
I realized that I didn't mentioned about the PSU - it's 320W ATX (but modified of course) PSU. I've still got the old (original) one.
There is Super Buster 11 on board. 2 MB Chip ram and 16 MB Fast ram. Standard A3630. The SCSI controller is GVP 2000 HC+8 (afair - I can check it out if you want). There were some problem with it but it's quite reliable now. But I remember that I couldn't use original (GVP) software to format my hdd. Now there's Amiga OS on it and it worked well when I run it last time. ROM3.1 (but I'm not sure - I'll check it out tomorrow).
I've got another SCSI controller (GVP 4000hc+8... or something - I don't remember... tomorrow ;) everything is on the pictures - I've sent a private message... )
There is a genlock or somthing what I've never used. You can have it as well :)
All needed cables and maybe more :)
Cheers

I'm sending a picture for the first time...

That's the worst bit. It works now. It even worked before I fixed it, but I couldn't save the right time. The white spots is some kind of solder flux - it should be easy to remove.
Wires were necessary to fix it. The battery is quite new.
And I've got many more pictures of course.

I'm not sure but I think I used original PSU box for another PSU (ATX) and it's in the computer (the tin box). The pcb of original PSU is separate. I don't know if Dave wants it or not... I've forgotten to mention, that I used all the wires of old (original) PSU making the new one.

_jmp_

PM sent to arrange collection.

If Retro_71 wants the parts of the original power supply that are left over - I don't mind.

Either _jmp_ can send it to you or I will after collection.
