wow that hits close to home. I am from the Philadelphia area and pass through west chester, PA all the time.

I used to take trips to GVP in KOP to pick up ram chips for my A530 many moons ago.

i like reading inside stories, especially about CBM so that alone with be fun to hear about.

Oh, come on.  This guy is just another scam artist trying to make a quick buck.....and Americans never start a message with "Greetings all" and end a message with "Cheers".  He could be a transplant though, but I doubt it.

Anonymous, former West Chester big executive, who worked at the headquarters in the pro arena!  Bah!  What a load of crap!  If he really had anything worth buying,  and was legit, he'd be well known, not hide his identity and tell you exactly what he was selling.  This is like some guy in a trench coat on the street corner trying to sell me "real Rolex" watches.

His user ID is one day old with a grand total of 2 posts.  Yeah, real active in the Amiga community....NOT!

BTW, I hear he also has beach-front property located in Arizona that will be auctioned on eBay along with his "insider" materials and memorabilia.

Oh, come on. I'm getting sick of newcomers to the scene getting blasted as scam artists right out of the gate. It happened, completely undeservedly, to Dennis and the Minimig, and again to the guy who leaked the files to boot OS4 on the MacMini (though the legality/morality of that action is a matter of dispute). Ultimately, both items turned out to be real and functional.

So let the guy make his case. If he does turn out to be talking nonsense, you'll have wasted a few minutes reading a thread, nothing more. I welcome the possibility of learning something about the platform's history.

Make a case?  This isn't a court.  And comparing this guy to Dennis and the Minimig is ludicrous.  Dennis wasn't trying to sell anything nor hide his identity.  He told us who he was and what he was doing and offered his work to the community.

This isn't about a history lesson.  It's about a guy who wishes to keep his identity hidden while at the same time hawking hardware, software and memorabilia.  This guy is either Bill McEwen or he really DID work at CBM/Amiga Inc. and learned quite well from Bill!  :-D

OK,

Even if this guy is on the level, most of this stuff will get snapped up by the likes of Doomy and the other dealers, who will up the margin by 300% then try and sell it back to us.

Why not put some of this stuff on Amibay instead of Ebay? At least Amibay doesn't allow traders, is run by committed Amiga sceners and isn't an auction site. That way, the main scene might have a chance to get stuff at reasonable prices.

Let's at LEAST give him the benefit of the doubt until he actually does something that could even remotely be fraudulent, like say, an actual sale offer!  What's it hurt us if he turns out to be a fraud and says he's going to sell us something and then never takes anyone's money???
AND, I have been known to use colourful phrases like Greetings All, and Cheers, and certainly I am no Brit!  (despite my last name)

Besides, I would gladly shake the hand of any former C='er, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
