What's an A2630 worth these days?
« on: February 27, 2007, 08:54:05 AM »
I recently layed my hands on a GVP G-Force 030 Combo for my A2000, which I still have to test (bought it as non-working, but my guess is it just needs some changes in jumper settings). If it works correctly, I'm considering selling my A2630 card.

What are these cards worth nowadays? I presume somewhere around 50-75 Euro, but has anyone seen one go on Ebay lately?

If you're interested, then offers are also welcome :-) (though the sale is not 100% sure yet).

I think you're right on the money, GVP Combo030 cards go for as little as 80€ so I guess the demands for an inferior 030 card such as the A2630 isn't that high, should be easier to sell if it comes fully populated with RAM and ROM7.0.

Hi,

I've been monitoring eBay for the same reason myself as I recently got a 2060 :-)

The last two 2630's I saw was from germany:

a 4Mb one sold for 54 euro 12th of Feb
a 2Mb one but overclocked at 28Mhz for 35.99 euro 26th of Feb
Neither mentions the rom version

As soon as I can be bothered I'll put my 2mb one with latest/last roms on eBay UK - perhaps we should agree not to put them on at the same time ?

Does yours have the Rocket Launcher accelerator?  This handy little kit boosts the speed of the  68030 CPU from 25 MHz to 50 Mhz.  I missed out on a couple of them on eBay.  The A2630 is useful for those of us who'd like to run Amiga Unix on the A2000, though, since this is one of the pieces of necessary h/w for it.  I've got the A2630 with the DKB 2632 32Bit Memory Expansion daughter card for the A2630 with 112 Megs of Fast Memory on it.  Otherwise, on my other A2000, I've got a DKB Wildfire 060 for it.  No Inferno video card though.  :-(

The Rocket Launcher accelerator is a nifty little addon, together with the DKB2632 it makes the A2630 a usable accelerator though an A2630+RocketLauncher+DKB2632=too much $ (if you don't have special needs).

Wildfire is hot... only way to get 100Mbit ethernet on the A2000 to my knowledge.

I have a A2630 2MB and DKB 2632, what are these worth?  I have 112MB RAM on it and its nice but since the HD can't DMA into 32bit the HD's are slow.

Frankly speaking, I prefer my 2060 onto which I stuck 128mb.
It's faster then any 2630 rocket/2632 and the SCSI controllor is indeed the fasted on the A2000.

Can't speak for the wildfire althought - but then I never/ever saw one on eBay in belgium/netherlands/germany/uk/france/spain (the ones I monitor)

I`m lucky enough to have an A2630 with rocketlauncher and Access32 partly populated. It isn`t that usefull but from a collectors point of view a nice piece of kit especially as it is in very good condition.

The DKB2632 never goes for under 100 EUR. I have been searching for one for quite some time. Whenever one was for sale it went for quite a high price. Higher then I was willing to pay, as it was only for collecting purpose.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

Don't expect to see it until at least a week after this Passover.  I just don't have the time to open up the A2000, take it out & photograph it.  I'd rather not take it out & put it back again, if possible.  And what photo album??  BTW, I know that it has a good ethernet chip on it, but I wasn't aware that it can do 100MBS.  Does anyone else know if this is true?

Ehm, this one maybe?

And as for my A2630, I'll just put it on sale somewhere (non-Ebay) as soon as I have the G-Force Combo working. I'll see what it will end up with...
