Title: Powermac G5 2.7ghz
Post by: McNorris on December 02, 2015, 03:25:18 PM
This G5 has been a bit of a hobby box, but I have used it as a ZFS backup server as well. The fastest MorphOS box one can get (Though moderately faster video cards are out there). FreeBSD 10.1 (ZFS on PPC!)

Here are the Specs:

-Dual G5 2.7ghz (no sign of coolant leakage)

-8GB ram

-60GB OWC Mercury SSD (Currently 1/2 MacOS 10.5, 1/2 MorphOS 3.7)

-DVD-R

-USB/firewire card

-Radeon 7000 PCI (64mb vram)

-Radeon X800 XT AGP (256mb vram)

no bluetooth/wifi onboard, but will include a USB wifi interface that has MacOS drivers available and work with FreeBSD 10.1 out-of-the-box. Case isn't perfect but isn't an eyesore.

So what do I want out of it?

-Quadra 800 (Maybe 840av?)

-Quadra 950

-Apple IIc+
