Anyone have a spare VXL RAM 32 lying around that they are willing to sell?
An 8 meg VXL Ram 32 would be preferable, but I would be willing to grab up a 2 meg VXL Ram 32.
I recently acquired a damaged VXL 30. I was able to fix it, however it did not come with the ram card.

Did I forget to take a shower? :(
I guess from reading some earlier threads, these things are rare.
Oh well, I guess a 33 mhz 68030/68882 with no 32 bit ram is better than just a 68000.
The system also has a GVP A500 HD 8+ with 8 megs of fast ram (16-bit of course).
I guess "in theory" I could run AmigaOS 3.9 on this system, even though some operations will not be much faster than a 68000 .
Running AIBB gives interesting results: some test that hit the memory and chips are not much faster than a stock 68000, others like integer math and floating point than don' t need to hit the system bus fly past one of my A3000s.

Bump (the last time)
Honestly I did take a shower this time :)
I promise I don't have cooties. :)

It's not mine, but I spotted this VXL30+VXL-RAM32 (http://www.ebay.de/itm/VXL-30-accelerator-VXL-RAM-32-for-Amiga-500-2000-/260847881021?pt=Klassische_Computer&hash=item3cbbbecb3d) on eBay.
I haven't seen a VXL30 with RAM32 card on sale for ages. I wonder how high this will end.

Motormouth, are you good at repairing cards? if so where are you located? I have a VXL30 that needs a leg resoldered.

As I've found over the last year, the RAM board is not rare but people are holding on tight to them and asking crazy prices or suggesting swap deals that have been insane.
The downside of not having the RAM board is that the VXL is the same speed as a stock A500.
So I said enough was enough and picked up two 68010 for dirt cheap. Anyway I refuse to pay 100x more than what a piece of hardware is worth. Ebay is a prime example, with the exception of a couple of traders i.e. airey36.
Anyway I wish you luck, maybe you'll have more than me trying to obtain the RAM board :-)

I personal enjoy eBay, as I have picked up items that were needed and got a deal. But, I have lost tons of auctions as the bid price was outside of what I felt the items were worth. Lately, for some reason folks are putting up their old computer gear with starting bids that anyone who uses and knows the value would never pay, and most of the time these auctions timeout with no bidders. The funny thing is these sellers still have to pay a listing fee. :roflmao:

It's crazy :-) Not sure what they're trying to do, have been watching some RAM for an A500 for a couple of months now, they have been asking $100 USD, it's not down to $85 USD. I dont think they actually want to sell the items ;-)
