A2000 mainboard power connector question
« on: October 22, 2018, 11:48:02 PM »
Hi All,

I have Ian Stedman's Classic Big Box ATX Adaptor (BBA).

From looking at his PSU guide for the A2000 it looks like he is showing Amiga mainboard power connector pin #1 as "not connected" (NC) to the +5v on the BBA with Amiga pin #12 "+5 User" being connected to one of the 4 BBA +5v terminals instead?

http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/amiga_hacks/Amiga_PSU/amiga_psu.html

The way I have done it is:

Amiga Pin | BBA ( screw terminal # )

1  | NC
2  | +5v ( 5 )
3  | +5v ( 6 )
4  | +5v ( 7 )
5  | GND ( 2 )
6  | GND ( 3 )
7  | GND ( 4 )
8  | GND ( 12 )
9  | +12v ( 1 )
10 | NC
11 | -12v ( 11 )
12 | +5v ( 8 )
13 | -5v ( 10 )
14 | TICK ( 9 )

That has a all 12 of the BBA screw terminals connected to a single pin on the amiga PSU connector?

So the question really is does Amiga mainboard power connector pin #1 need to be connected to 5v?

Thanks.

Richard
