"At 1699 SPECfp2000 Peak (1598 Base), it currently holds the top spot in the SPECfp database, with a 13% and 16% lead over the 1.15 GHz Alpha 21364 and 1 GHz Itanium II, respectively. In SPECint, IBM's new CPU ranks forth, behind the 3 GHz Pentium 4 (800 MHz FSB), the 1.8 GHz Opteron, and the 3.06 GHz Pentium 4 Xeon. "

_ 1113 SPECint2000 Peak
_ 1699 SPECfp2000 Peak

What does it cost? The CPUs it's compared to sure isn't consumer electronics...

The 3 GHz Pentium 4 (800 MHz FSB) is a normal desktop CPU, the other 2 (opteron & xeon) are server CPUs...

slowly ppc is getting faster i remember when clock speed was haigher than x86 chips. ;-)
