I too would like to see this for my 3000 or 4000, but I have to be sceptical and say "how can this product be any less expensive than and A1 board?"
I'd like to be wrong and find out I can update my ami for hundreds less than an A1, but it seems this will probably be a normally priced A1 card simply pluged in to my old case. Only the less speedy CPU would be a cost cutter. And with all the gloomy speculation out of the way.... I can't wait to find out more.  :-)

You may joke, but is they were to ever put one in an A600, then I'm buying up as many A600s in sight to do the upgrade to.

I would do the same thing. An A600 with a 400mhz PPC would be the coolest thing ever, I'd buy as many as I could afford, and then some.

As for the A1200 version, I'm getting one. Have to get myself a new A1200 too, but it'll be worth it, I haven't been this excited about something Amigarelated in years.

Now does anyone know if I would be able to run divx's allright with a 400mhz PPC?

Will the 1200-D version have any access to the 1200's hardware, specifically sound and clockports?  'Cause if so, I've got a wickedly cool idea brewing in my head.

It depends on how the player is coded, somewhat.  But given that the ATI Mobility chipset is all chunky as opposed to having to do C2P translation for the ECS, you'd be golden.

No, I'm totally unconnected to anyone at Matay.  I did do a Linux driver for the Prometheus board, but am not affiliated with Matay nor Elbox.

I've got a uA1 coming which I'll put in a micro ITX case and carry to work.
I've also got an A4000D and a couple of A1200's. The idea of one of these is an A1200 case as my main machine is making me salivate wildly....
It would be cool if the phantasy project people can modify their case to take a uA1 OR an A1200 mobo.... :-D

What are the chances of posting some pictures of the prototype ?  Put our minds at rest that this is not yet another hoax.

Or is the prototype still in paper/brain cell form ?

Not a bit, but as amigans we are full of hope as always. Seems after 4 months there would be some update/news. I wish they (all potential devs) would quit posting news releases without protos or demos to show at least. I'm still interested if you're still building though!

Adam is a very busy person. I have no doubt the accellerators will ship, it's just that he has alot on his plate at the moment.  I just talked to him recently.  We just need to be patient.
