ten years ago... 1998. hmmmm.
1995, i had swapped my A500(3.1rom/Mtec020-4Mb/ADIDE/minimegachip/A570) for a non functional A4000/030 desktop with no keyboard, hard disk, or ram. analogic charged(gouged) me 90 GBP for a keyboard, and londonbridge chaged me 80 GBP for the fix including postage.
so by that point in 1998, i had
A4000 with 16MB,
Cyberstorm2/040 with 48MB,
Cybervision64/3D,
ardaine Ethernet card,
GVP HD8+ scsi zorro card with 8MB,
5.1GB IDE drive off of a 4way IDE splitter with an 8 speed IDE CDrom, and IDE zip drive.
midi interface
off the scsi i had
Akai sampler, external Jaz Drive, external 2.6Gb 5.1/4" MO cartridge drive
off the midi interface,
Roland D-5, Yamaha DX7 module, and the Akai
running into a vestax mixer feeding a Kenwood A/V surround amp with a B&W CC6 center speaker, warfdale 21's as the main front pair, and a pair of B&W somethings as rears, and a JBL quad subwoofer.

good times.

Nope ;-)

Cassette tape = Track A+B, (Flip tape) C+D
8 Track = Track A+B, C+D, E+F, G+H.

(Each pair = Stereo)

A bit like having 2 cassettes in 1 , and beause they use a endless loop, one pair triggers the heads to automaticially move onto the next pair, etc.

:-D

The external ZIP was because I had TWO internal units fail, and then they quit being available.  And, the SCSI tower wasn't so crappy when it was fully assembled.  It even had an 8-track in it  :-D

That's an A3000 with a crappy SCSI tower on the side.

Very nice, but I prefer an internal ZIP drive, not an external unit loose in a 5 1/4" bay.
