point 'n click amiga games
« on: January 24, 2011, 04:04:57 PM »
Over the years my taste in games has changed somewhat. While I used to enjoy arcade style games (and still do to a degree) these days Im more interested in a game that is story driven. As such "point 'n click" adventures are one of my favorite genres nowadays and Im always on the look out for games Ive not played. Having been an amiga fan pretty much since day one though, I've exhausted most of the options for the amiga, so have started looking for games in the genre that mightnt have been too successful/received little publicity, and/or "homebrew" type stuff (particularly grac/graal made games).
Long story short, can anyone suggest me some titles to look into that fit this criteria please ? Im particularly interested in homebrew stuff, but not exclusively.
Thanks in advance.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

hrm, the only ones Ive played are the ones everybody has played (beneath a steel sky, flight of the amazon queen, lure of the temptress, monkey island, future wars, darkseed)

I did just download one from aminet that looks promising. I'll check the title when I get home tonight.

Monkey Island 1 & 2, Indian Jones Fate of Atlantis & Last Crusade, Gobliiins series etc... All great games and all look great on the Amiga. Hard drive recomended but work just fine from floppy too. (Note: Monkey Island II is 11 or 12 disks iirc)

How about "The Feeble Files". There's even a PC Conversion of it available on GOG.
Another Game I liked that never got the recognition it deserver was "Loom", I don't think "Simon the Sorcerer" was mentioned either.

Whoops, should have read your post more closely. Not really familiar with anything too obscure or homebrew like, 'cept Total Chaos, which seems to be pretty popular.

Inherit the Earth, demo's on Aminet.
Cruise for a corpse.

With ScummVM you should be able to play a lot of adventures published after the Amiga died as a mainstream machine; Broken Sword, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max etc.
