You most likely have the zorro version. This kickflash version was to be put in the rom sockets.

I have a thread about it here on amiga.org.

Edit:

kickflash? I have 2 of them man! they are sold!!!

That was my first reaction because I've sold dozens of them, but my memory soon cleared up.

What you have is *not* a Kickflash, they were never made. What you have is a KickflashOS4. The original kickflash was a drop in replacement for the original ROMs and was to be available for all Amiga models including A1000, A500, etc etc.

Maybe you should split your list: there is hardware which has at least reached prototype stage (like the UltraBUS, the Unity, the daVinci), and there is hardware which has never ever been seen by anyone (might be far longer than the first list).

For splitting the list one should also add links to pictures of prototypes.

Jens thinks so too...

20.10.2000: Kickflash finally in production!

After a long time, the revised version of Kickflash finally went into production. First, the total Amiga-classics A500 and A1000 are served: In addition to 1MB Flash memory for kickstart Roms, a 86-pin slot for A2000 accelerator boards and a Zorro-slot are given. A version for the A1200 will follow.

One other lost product is the KickflashOS4 1GB (?) expansion.

18.06.2003: Kickflash OS4: Final product specifications

Due to the high demand, Kickflash OS4, which has been announced on June 2nd, has been revised. The base version now has 1MB of flash memory, and can be expanded to 1GB on an expansion port. Transfer rates can be compared to normal harddrives, but the common access times of mechanical mass-storage media practically don't exist on flash memory: On random access, so-called solid-state memory is about tenthousand times faster than common harddrives.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Nope. It is clearly stated that this board was a design example only for reference and testing purposes.

Ok.  But, couldn't you say the same for several other products on the list?

Many products have never been announced and therefore cannot be vapor. Additionally, it does make a difference whether a product is announced as a future product or a mere design study (e.g. Boxer).

uhh... The BoXer was not a design study. Many people preordered due to false press releases...

@ Piru

The portable actually existed.  I saw it at a Toronto Amiga show.  Also they had (If I recall the correct model number) an Amiga 5050 which was a PC-Amiga hybrid.  Not sure if it was just an A4000T with a bridgeboard or two motherboards inside one case.

Both the 4040L and 5050 were on display and working at the show.

What was the name of that Picasso4 addon 3D board? You know, the "Name the Baby" contest? Power Glider?? Let me know so i can add it.

Keep in mind the Paraglide was never finished because Klaus Burkert passed away.

Also at WOA 99 in Cologne Villagetronic had their mac version of the 3d card hooked up through some adapter on the P-IV.
Even with working preliminary drivers. The mini connector on the P-IV is actually some sort of PCI.

The C= CD-ROM drive for the A1200 that was supposed to come out just after CD-32, forget the designation?

I'm not sure the Video Toaster PAL version should actually be listed here, since it wasnt delivered because of Motorolas Vapor ware, not any issues with Newtek.  In additon, it doesnt look like any of the Opalvision addons are on the list, and surely deserver to be :).

How about the A4000CR? Can't quite remember the specs, but I think Motorola would manufacture a 68030 with lots of other logic for a Cost Reduced version.

Wasn't it talked about a "Ranger" around 1988 which was supposed to be better than what AGA turned out to be?

And I wonder who has Scala's A3000+...
