Imagine if Jay Miner read a 1985 prediction about the future of AMIGA Inc today:
2. The latest partner of AMIGA is none other than MICROSOFT! :)

Didn't Microsoft do the Amiga Basic that was included with the OS? So it wouldn't be the first time.

Yep, MS did do the BASIC that shipped with early Amigas.  It stank - bad.

There's an old saying; keep your friends close and your enimies even closer.  I don't know if that's whats going on here, but IMHO getting the Amiga DE to ship with Windows is worth the risk.  Hopefully that's where all this is headed...

Here's what's going on - Amiga are demoing DE  under Windows. That, as far as I can see, is it. The product runs on Windows so avoiding the issue would be quite monumentally stupid (Not that monumental stupidity hasn't played a part in Amiga's chequered past). I can't see how they could gain better exposure for a Windows product than by showing it off under the same roof as the company that makes Windows itself.

Amiga has never claimed that Microsoft are 'partners' and neither has Microsoft.

As for announcements, Bill has stated that updates will appear on the Amiga.com site on a monthly basis. No doubt, Amiga's appearance at the show will be covered in the next executive update. Lets just wait and see what he has to say on the matter

This thing is so confusing that the only smart comment I read was "... let's wait..."

That's why our community is commonly known as the "rumor computer".

Let's just wait to the official announcement, everything else is just a rumor and since 10 years is the only thing I've heard...

PD: 10 years is a lot of time...

Hey, don't spoil the fun! Let's watch the moron masses run around with flailing arms and foaming mouths. Perhaps Shawn will stop by and join the choir.

Well, as seen on the linked MS site, MS are claiming they're partners, and they  are partners to the extent that they participate in the same booth at the same exhibition.

P.S: Is it possible to change the preset "quote" format to not be so damn huge (i.e. "Quote:" + separator bars + lots of space)?
Maybe it\\\'s still possible to save AmigaOS  :rtfm:......

Does this mean Microsoft will put out a version of Windows for the classic Amiga? Has Bill Gates seen the light and recognised the obvious superiority of the machine? :-o

Ha ha ha! The end is nigh!

Of course it isn't. Amiga made enough mistakes in the past to be careful this time round... surely?

Hey, remember that old myth/legend/rumour about Bill Gates deliberately putting one of his own men in a high place at Amiga so he could destroy it from the inside? MUHAHAHAHA

No way any Windows (well, WinCE, maybe) could run on classic Amiga hardware.  Too much of a frickin' resource hog.  That and any given Windows-capable machine is so resource-laden as to put classic Amiga hardware to shame.  Better (and I hope to GOD it becomes the case) to put Amiga OS on Windows hardware.  The mind boggles at what one could do with such hardware liberated by THAT OS!!! :-o

This is not what the involved parties think it is.

MS is looking for something they will not find.
Amiga is looking for something they will not find.

MS has their game box, as Amiga did a long time ago.
MS wants to see where Amiga is pointing, but Amiga doesn't
really know.

Blind leading the Blind.

Maybe this is a good thing???
