Looks like another nice project! Unfortunately, I seriously doubt this will work with my SuperCPU 128 :-(
-
Beautiful! Keep up the good work. (BTW, any idea when the 1541 Ultimate will be available for purchase?)
@Red
You can use the 1541-III though as it attaches to the IEC only.

1541 Ultimate is a nice project !
It appears to be 1541 emualtion in the Xilinx FPGA.
Will it be an open source hardware project such as MiniMig ? What about 1571/1581 emulation as well ?
:-)

I'll definetely buy one if they become available.

This is the project of my collegue Gideon.
As I understand from him 1581 is impossible with the current hardware/method. 1571 maybe. The ram that holds the image is rather crowded already.
I have a prototype here connected to my 128DCR (the idea is I implement the software control IEC drive, so it can be used on plus/4 and such that have no compatible cartridge slot). I can tell you it sure is fun to see it work. Sadly it is not yet flawless on my 128dcr. The proto I have does not have the audio circuit mounted so I miss the emulated drive sounds.
When this project is finished it sure is a must have for any serious retro gamer as it solves the problem of dying floppies.

Hi! I am the main developer of the 1541 Ultimate. Currently, working hard on compatibility with different revisions of the commodore machine, and adding new features.
The list of pre-orders is growing; yes it is possible to order it now. The price is € 99 for the normal version, and € 119 for the "plus" version (with 32MB ram). :-D Just send me an E-mail with your name, and which version you would like to have.
The list is currently so long, that the delivery time for the units will be around 8 to 10 weeks.

More production runs are happening NOW. Is there anyone here who is using one of these? It appears to be the best 1541 replacement solution out there. A little pricey, yes, but so was the 1541 originally. :)

Hi ;) Yes.. production is in full go. I was at the assembly company today, and will post a video clip and pics on the 1541u-site soon. It looked good!
About the being pricey, well.. it is quite an and-and device, not or-or. 1541 _AND_ built-in-cartridges _AND_ REU _AND_ rr-net _AND_ .... ;-)
