Title: APC&TCP acquired the rights of DigiBooster Professional
Post by: AndreasM on November 09, 2002, 10:19:42 PM
APC&TCP (http://www.apc-tcp.de) signed a contract with the programmers of DBPro. Thus all rights for DBPro, Source, and the name Digiboostepro were acquired.  Digibooster Professional is a Music-Tracker Program, which works with Samples.

You can use over

* 60 Commandos
* up to 128 Channels
* up to 255 Samples
* DSP Echo
* and many more

... to create your own Music. Who thus already worked with programs like e.g. the Protracker, will love DBPro.

DBPro runs completely over AHI, thus each Sound-Card, whose driver on AHI constructs, is supported. Also known module formats will be supported. At the moment DBPro can read and process:

* MOD  (Protracker/Noisetracker)
* DIGI (Digibooster 1.x)
* XM   (FastTracker)
* S3M  (ScreamTracker)
* MED  (Octamed & OctamedSoundStudio)

As soon as a capable programmer is found, planned the advancement of the program in large steps is to be driven ahead.  Furthermore is planned for future versions to publish the program on CDs instead of Disks.  Detailed information about the program can be found on the APC&TCP home page (http://www.apc-tcp.de). The APC&TCP home page (http://www.apc-tcp.de) was updated this week.  In the future APC&TCP (http://www.apc-tcp.de) will work together with the DigiBoosterPro Community (http://www.digiboosterpro.de).

Dennis Lohr (Psyria) (http://mailto:Psyria@apc-tcp.de) will take over the support for this program.  So support for DBPro runs as uncomplicated as possible, a support forum (http://www.amigafuture.de/forum/index.php?c=4) has been setup and can be found on the DBPro Community (http://www.digiboosterpro.de) web site as well as the Amiga Future home page (http://www.amigafuture.de/).  We would be pleased, if you would write your suggestions for improvements and new features for DigiBoosterPro into the support forum (http://www.amigafuture.de/forum/index.php?c=4).

Well, it supports AHI, so it should run nicely on OS4, I suppose...

Whabang. I really hope it will. I have had problems with DBPro always. It only plays 4ch mods in 8 bit mode. If I try anything else, it hangs. I have seen it running fluently on a 060. I have tested it on 040 & 030.

SoundStudio is much more stable, rock-solid I would say. Unfortunately it doesn't support AHI. But it can render music to HD..now they are killing Soundstudio if noone will begin to support it. :(

Well, my experiences of DBPro were less than satisfactory. Its AHI output doesn't work on my repulse, its display updates are painfully slow on graphics cards, and it seems very unstable.

I hope that these will be fixed, because I do want a decent tracker for AmigaOS...

As far as I am concerned, the demise of OSS is the saddest single event in the history of Amiga software. :-(
