OK guys the big day is a coming, I think we have about 5 guys committed to showing up. I have wrote some and asked them to prepare a demo of what they have. I hope to Demo WinUAE and how to load programs. I hope to have a working toaster set up and play with that again. Anybody have something they are having trouble with bring it to the meeting, I think for one night we may have the largest brain trust of Amiga stuff in one location in the world.

If I have not gotten in touch with you please PM me that you wish to attend, it is my home so I just want to know who is coming. I am so glad you are coming.

Also we are going to try to web cast this thing to share with our Amiga friends around the world. SO if you wish to join in on the 17 get your G mail account now as this is the format that we will be using for the group web cast.

Once again thank you for supporting my little dream of a Amiga group, everybody has been so supportive.

OK, guys, the big day is here, I was asked by PM what time can people arrive? 6 PM will be ok and parking will be tight; I will have my vehicles removed from my drive way; that way, people coming with equipment to load and unload will not have to carry very far. As for food and drinks, I have coke and water, if you drink Pepsi or something else just bring it along, but for the most part I have drinks and chips. I also will be giving away a DCTV to one of you that shows up. We will draw numbers or arm wrestle for it. So far I have my Toaster, that I hope to get fixed to display, and another person is bringing an Amiga X1000 with Amiga dos 4.2.1. I am not sure of the bridgeboard, this one guy said he had a 486 bridgeboard to demo, but he canceled. Anyway, we have a few things to show and play with. See you all tomorrow around 6.

Garyg Bring the chips, I have 2 A2000's with out chips. We can build another A2000. Mike, bring the projector. As for the google account, I think you need to download the app. Keep posted today as the weather may get bad and we will have to cancel, no reason to have the entire DC metro area Amiga brain trust on the roads in bad weather, I will post later as the storm progresses.

I can offer a meeting place, but I'm located in Middletown, MD.  So, I'd assume that it'd be too far out for most.

- Alex

I can host anytime you guys want to. I have fixed all issues with my A2000,s and even fixed the PAR recording stuff. I too live in Middletown MD. so at least two have a short drive. I would love to have another meeting. so check your calendars and lets keep it going.

Hey all,

I’m located in northern Baltimore county. Interested if there is a get together. Got lots of classic stuff I could bring, (like a complete Amiga Live! Setup) but also a brand new X5000 I should have in a week or two if anyone is interested in the new stuff.

John

What is Amiga live? I have cleared my garage and have at least two folding tables. I can set up a complete toaster with several cameras. I also have blank disk, let's do a disk swap. I would like to get some tools like sys info, X copy, any demos, or art work. I have things to trade. Let's go for the end of September and make it a Saturday or Sunday. I have a lot of Amiga stuff and live in a Amiga vacuum so any activity sounds great to me.

Yes, and no.  I've been up in the NoVa area (specifically up in Ashburn near Dulles International) for about 5 years now, but no, I haven't owned or played with Amigas for years.

Redrumloa posted something about a "new Amiga" on Whyzzat but until there's a usable OS, I just don't understand the point.  As I said over there, you could have a multi-CPU, 10tHz computer with like Petabytes of storage and RAM and it's all irrelevant without a modern, user-friendly OS...  (This is the same point that got me thrown out of the inner circle when I brought it up with Amiga Inc over a decade ago)...

Still, it'd be great to actually get together with some of the legendary old-timers from Amiga.org sometime...

Wayne

It would be great to meet you Wayne, I think we have something planned at the end of September. Nothing on a real date yet, but something will happen soon. I think I will start a new thread so that nobody will mistake the old thread. Looking forward to meeting and discussing the state of Amiga.

Ha!  You're more in my neck of the woods - I'm in Gainesville/Manassas area now, but pass by Dulles every couple weeks or so.  Love the Udvar-Hazy museum.  :)

We gotta get all these Maryland folks down here for a change, one of these days.  ;)

They all are from DC,  lol I am going to be in your area Wednesday the 23th to see Alice Cooper @ Jiffy Lube live. Susann and I always wonder if your in side working when we pass your work place.
