Recomend some games for SAM460?

Well, the deal is done! I pulled the trigger on a new SAM460EX COMPLETE SYSTEM too!
And, I GOT THE LAST ONE! With all the upgrades and goodies!

I also got the FastATA 1200 MK-IV IDE Interface for my A1200 and the Competition Pro Joystick for the Sam.

CAN"T WAIT!!!!
 
I'm glad for this post too - time to go get some software and games for the SAM!

I ordered these two cases and after I play around on it for awhile I'm going to see how the innerds transplant into one of these...

I've been saving a couple of brand new WHITE optical drive faceplates for just such an occasion too!
 
Emulation for OS4 looks like a winner too! Maybe I can retire a couple of old Miggys! Also, didn't I see someone load Windows under emulation on an OS4 machine? I'd love to be able to play all my old DOS/WIN VGA games on it too! (no flame please!) :roflmao:
 
@eliyahu.... how hard was it to setup emulation on yours? Is it very finicky?

Yea, I have a ton of old PC games on CD that were made to run on DOS. Many VGA games that were very fun to play. I have the Ultimate Infocom games package that will be fun to break out again along with some old titles that I never even really got to play. I have run DOSBOX on WinXP and it's excellent. Double-click on an ADF.... how awesome is that! Again thanks!

Hi AmigoSteve, Yeah, I bought the Complete System w/2GB mem, the SD Card, the Radeon HD 4650 1GB video card, the keyboard & mouse, and the card reader. I figured I might as well go for the gold & it wasn't that much more for the additional stuff. I probably won't use the card reader after I transplant everything into the Silverstone case but, Meh... As far as the Amigaone 500 it's the exact same setup but just a different case. Not sure just how much more performance .15GHz will provide though anyway. So, I wouldn't worry if I were you. Probably can't even tell the difference. To tell you the truth, I'm more concerned about emulation performance. Post back when you get yours as will I & we can compare notes. I'm gonna do a writeup with pics and post to my website too.

To tell you the truth (maybe someone else can answer) I'm not sure why the resellers only offer the Radeon 4650 card. Maybe a logistical thing or a compatibility thing (hope it's not due to hardware compatibility with other graphics cards). I'm sure it's just a matter of drivers. Like Chris said, you would need a 9250 to support Warp3D or MiniGL in software (I'm sure someone else has tried this and that the 9250 drivers work with the SAM board?). Did you buy the 4650 or just going to use the on-board graphics? From waht it sounds like, ACube/Hyperion is working on a 3D driver for the 4650 though or maybe even the on-board graphics - not sure which. I bought the 4650 for the OS4 support and the graphics card's 1GB on-board memory. I know, terrible reply... I'm sure someone else can make sense of all this though. Rog.........

What I've seen in this thread however seem to indicate that the new users are hoping for more than what they'll get. Many buyers seem to be unaware of the relatively poor performance (AmigaONE G4 is faster in many tasks) and driver support issues (no 3D unless if you downgrade your graphics card).
 
Future might bring new 3d drivers or PPC JIT for UAE, but those things are not reality as of now.

What I think you're really trying to say is that anyone that buys a SAM is an idiot and a stupid dummy McDumDum! Right? Anyone that discusses buying a new SAM doesn't have the right to do so here without being ridiculed! Right? Not everyone has the $$$ for an X1000 (we know, you think that's a piece of crap too - got anything better on the drawing board smarta$$?).
