They did say that they would make some announcements, and I seem to remember something about 'before the end of March'. Just in the nick then !

So I take it you'll buy it when it runs Linux and is available to end customers?

You're making it sound as if it was one hell of a job to port OS4 to a AMCC 440ep with Radeon Gfx. It isn't.
It doesn't matter too much if Hyperion has already ported it or not. All that matters is if they can find a license agreement with Amiga Inc.

I wouldnt if I were you - I already have an A1XE.

although once it runs OS4 I could be tempted if the price were right...

now there you go y'see, you're reading things in that arent there.
if anything it proves that ACube and Hyperion can do business together. for that you need ACube, Hyperion and Amiga Inc to be able to do business together.

I can vouch that MorphOS is good enough to use and not wish you had OS4 instead. I have no plans to ever get an OS4 system so long as they are priced the way they were the last time you could get one.

MorphOS does everything it can do, and I would say just as well if not better in areas too.

As a counter to that, I should point out that, having both MOS and OS4, I haven't switched on my Peg for about 3 months (although I intend to tonight) due mainly to my impression that OS4 actually does most things more elegantly, although I admit this is subjective.

That said, I tend to do most of my work in OSX these days.

Hey, some of us in Tucson DO have an Amiga. Granted I am down to my A1200 and UAE gets more time nowadays but still  :-D

Anyhow, it will be interesting to see if any actual OS4 hardware comes out of this...

I'm going to have to research that. I can't realy see a cop bothering with it considering all the Meth heads there are around here.

"It's a waste of tax payer's dollars" a cop once told me. :)

Last I heard you can purchase a license from the state to grow a limited amount, but that could have changed over the past few years or only been a rumour.

Wow, I'm really going off topic here, sorry!

Amiga amiga amiga! ;o)

What's a TOS?

That thing they called an OS on the Atari.

Though what Red is referring to is all the links under Legal Information to the left in the Main Menu. Read them.... especially the Posting Guidelines

Specificly, this one:
No posting about illegal activities
If you get drunk, that's fine. If you use drugs, that's fine. The moderators of this site aren't here to be your mother. We will not however tolerate excessive posting promoting drug use or other illegal activities. It's not funny, it's annoying, and it's unacceptable. Moderators are free to use their discretion up to and including banning the account of the person responsible.
