Nice. i especially like this:
"
TFTP from server 192.168.0.3; our IP address is 192.168.0.5
Filename '/tftpboot/os4.image'.

...but if you take close attention the
the output, you'll see that it's actually booting on a G4... that log's
from a test run on a Amiga One XE board with a G4 7410...
Actually I find this more interesting :-o :-D :-o
Hmm....we need drool Smiley!

Have you seen this (G3):
[HAL_CalibrateTimer] Frontside bus frequency: 133 MHz
[HAL_CalibrateTimer] Internal frequency: 599 MHz
Have you seen this (G4):
[HAL_CalibrateTimer] Frontside bus frequency: 100 MHz
[HAL_CalibrateTimer] Internal frequency: 400 MHz
So it's not the same CPU module as they use on the AmigaOne-XE (G4) :-D

Exec on Amiga One G3 :
PPCBoot 1.1.6 (Oct 25 2002 - 12:31:12)
How will it look for the future???
Will it be renamed to U-boot, or will it continue as PPCBoot?
I sure hope it will continue as PPCBoot :-D
-
They probably changed the name before it's no longer PowerPC dependent.
I mean why not call it ARMBoot?
-
Well I thought it was Das Boot :-o
(a fave movie of mine) :-D

The G4 that we run on was a MPC 7410, which is one of the modules we have here for the XE but not the one that is going to be on the final version. I wasn't sure how high this one goes, so we left it at 400 MHz to be sure the CPU's not fried :destroy:

It should not be called ARMBoot, because:
1: The original name of the project was 8xxROM - not ARMBoot.
2: ARMBoot was made on basis of it's sister project (PPCBoot).
3: The AmigaOne PPCBoot was made on basis of PPCBoot 1.1.6, and not ARMBoot!
4: ARMBoot is no longer ARMBoot, but has merged with PPCBoot to U-Boot.

Nice to hear that it is capable of running other CPU modules :-D
Do you know if it is capable of running standard CPU modules normally used in Apple Mac?

when can I buy it please? :-P
I hope it is ready on X-mas :-)

I love the humour in the boot code. Yet another thing to set it apart from the competition. :-D

I would have at least tried to set it to 1GHz just for giggles. Put a big fat fan on top.....Then again, just before a show, that probably would not have been a good idea.
Any word if it will use the standard Mac CPU modules for the G4's?

I have the question :-)
If it is able to use standard Mac CPU modules, then I might buy the AmigaOne-XE.
If it is only able to use special AmigaOne CPU modules I think I will go for the AmigaOneG3-SE as I do not need more right now (money money money)

Well, I hope they will change it to Kickstart 4.0. I know it isn't like the old ROM, but it still kicks the AmigaOne board alive. So please Eyetech/Hyperion call it Kickstart 4.0 just to continue with an old Amiga tradition :-D

One of the best suggestions I've heard for a long time.

Yeah! And that name surely kicks butt.
