Amigakit is the only decent Amiga company in the UK, fair prices and you will not get raped by them. of course you can get some of the stuff cheaper elsewhere (if you know where to look) no one is saying anything different but still it has Amiga in the name and is not rip off, which is very unusual in the Amiga market.

I hope that guy does very well and i honestly wish him luck in doing so.

The 128MB SIMMs measure 8mm (height) x 108mm (length) x 36mm (width)

Hope this helps!

Thanks to everyone for their comments of support.  It is appreciated - especially as AmigaKit.com is still in it's early/expanding stage.

@amigakit

They shouldn't by any chance be HP ram modules?

If so, it's prob the same as the ones I'm selling, at least the size of the module is the same (and the amount of ram of course). I think the price is reasonable.

I have just been told by one of my customers that the 128MB fits and works OK in a standard Blizzard 1260 accelerator without SCSI addon.

I know this clears up a couple of queries.

We have another batch of 128Mb SIMMS and 64MB SIMMS, so everyone who wasn't quick enough at the beginning of the week can now get hold of them in the AmigaKit.com Memory Shop

128mb SIMMs are not compatible with the Phase 5 Blizzard 1260 unless
they are single sided. Double-sided 128mb SIMMs are just too fat for
both the 1260 and the SCSI-IV. This applies to desktop AND tower cases
since due to the SIMM socket (and a rogue capacitor on the DCE
SCSI-IV) the module cannot physically click into place.

Single sided 64mb SIMMs are rare let alone 128mb ones. Since a 128mb
SIMM must have at least 16x DRAM chips then a single sided would have
to have a 8x2 rectangular configuration.

I have a single-sided, 60ns, FPM 64mb SIMM...  but the last 4mbytes
will crash the machine when utilised. Not sure if this is a
laser-printer module or whether it's an issue with a 3.0 ROM/SetMap.

Bare in mind also that you are best avoiding EDO and going for FPM
(Fast Page Mode) SIMMs and also nasty Compaq and Laser Printer memory.
Try also avoiding ECC/Parity SIMMs as they have non-useable extra
chips which take up space and may conflict with your system. EDO has
been known to conflict with Blizzard cards and the extra benefits
cannot be utilised on Amigas anyway.

Do a search and I'm sure you'll see a few more threads on the SIMM
issue. It's important to get the very hard-to-find ones and not the
mass-produced EDO stuff from '96 onwards.

Ooops, a double post.

May as well mention now though - the PowerPC boards had an early
startup menu (accessed by holding Escape on bootup).

This menu allowed you to use EDO on PPC boards as well as cheaper
SIMMs by turning on and off pre-charges.

:-)

FYI, the 64Mb chips that we are currently selling are single sided.

Before despatch to a customer, we perform a Pre Delivery Inspection on every memory module.  This involves filling the RAM Disk completely, then deleting the contents.  We ensure that the reported memory size is consistent with the memory size before the test.  This test confirms the RAM chip's integrity and compatibility with the test system.

@amigakit:

As a Blizzard1260-owner, I am very interested dimensions, so may I ask - what are the dimensions of this single-sided 64MB SIMM?

Hmmm...

They sound nice.

Any chance you could paste the code on the DRAMs?
