@Cyberus + Effy

The price doesn't sound terribly unreasonable. You of course are free to buy off eBay if you trust a particular seller or are willing to take a chance. I'd imagine this company has tested the module and are guaranteeing it to work with certain Amiga accelerators. It sounds entirely reasonable to me, especially since 128MB SIMMS while not rare are fairly uncommon.

Its a fair price from what i can see. I paid about the same on ebay here for some, about $50 each for a set of 4.

@red

I take your point, and I know that my comment may have seemed a little out of place. But it wasn't meant to cause offence to anyone.

You yourself must know that I'll always say that the beauty ;-) of capitalism is that you can choose to buy from whoever you want. If you don't like the price, then don't buy it. Thus my comment may have seemed a little hypocritical.

However, despite the fact that it doesn't seem so at times, this is a community. Therefore, people let each other know about what's available all the time, for example amigamad posting other people's auctions in the Amiga on Ebay section. I was merely pointing out that I have seen such SIMMs for less than ten pounds on ebay. Haymiggan has pointed them out a couple of times.

I know that, but I also consider myself a member of the community. I also happen to be a blabbermouth:-D I have no connections to this company nor are I very familiar with them, just figured I'd inject my $0.02.

You have to watch ebay and a good deal on stuff like that. I've been looking for a few 512MB PC 133 modules and thought I had found one for a steal at $40. I clicked and read only to see that he wants $20 shipping and handling using USPS standard service with a note after it telling people not to bid if they dont like it. Now I know shipping on a stick of RAM is no more then $3, and packing materials sure dont add up to the rest. Thats the people on ebay I hate to see take advantage of others.

In response to some of the above comments, we always try and ensure pricing is fair.    You will notice that all the products are priced to the market and not over the top.

On another note, would any users be interested in 64MB SIMMs?

This is a perfectly reasonable price for a 128MB, they are scarce second-hand, particularly if you only search within your own region as i do.  In fact there were no 128MB simms available on eBay to me at the time i bought from Amigakit, let alone cheaper ones.  He's quick to deliver and provides very regular order updates.

@amigakit:

How tall in millimeters are the 128MB SIMMs? There are surely some A1200 desktop users that would be interested in single-sided 64MB SIMMs.

I apologise for my comments earlier, they weren't meant to be critical, but I was foolish not to see that this is how they would look. It is good to see a company in the UK supplying parts for the Amiga user.

And yes, there is the element of convenience. Not everyone knows exactly what type of SIMM they'll need, and will be glad to know it'll work with their system, particularly if they're getting it sent abroad.

Amigakit is the only decent Amiga company in the UK, fair prices and you will not get raped by them. of course you can get some of the stuff cheaper elsewhere (if you know where to look) no one is saying anything different but still it has Amiga in the name and is not rip off, which is very unusual in the Amiga market.

I hope that guy does very well and i honestly wish him luck in doing so.
