FastRomWP released!
« on: October 29, 2018, 02:36:12 PM »
INTRODUCTION:
FastRomWP is an MMU tool which provides "Write Protection" support to the AmigaOS CPU command when using the FastROM option. It supports Standard and Extended ROMs so all FastROM users can enjoy the same level of protection.

FEATURES:
- MMU write protects Standard 512KB ROMs
- MMU write protects Extended 1MB or 2MB ROMs
- 100% assembler code

REQUIREMENTS:
- 68020 or 68030 CPU with MMU
- AmigaOS CPU command (with FASTROM enabled)

NOTES:
MMU write protection is over-rated! This tool will NOT prevent your
system from crashing! But it will increase the chance of having a
"Software Failure" which is useful for debugging purposes.

HISTORY:
v1.0 - First release

** NEWS UPDATE **

FastRomWP is now obsolete. FastRom2MB now provides this function:

Does this require RAM that can survive a reboot?

No, CPU FastROM can't survive a reboot. This is simple MMU logical address write protecton. Hence, you can use any Fast RAM available.
