It's not Impulse that's responsible for the Amiga CUP.
Martin Mackenzie has taken up the reigns to bring Imagine to full PPC code.
Currently he is working with Hyperion as one of the programmers on OS4. When his work there is done, he will restart work on Imagine.
:-? If Mr. MacKenzie has taken over the development of Imagine 6 from Impulse, that’s fine.  Just as long as he recognizes that he has inherited their obligations along with their assets.

I sent $100.00 dollars to Impulse for version 6, many years ago.  Once AmigaOS 4 is complete, I fully expect my copy of Imagine v.6, free of charge, along with a letter of thanks for the patience I’ve shown.

with all due respect, the size of the Amiga market and the size of the
PC Market is not a surprise to anyone, even
those who conceived of, marketed, and accepted money for a 'constant' update program for the Amiga version of Imagine.

I had Imagine 4 running on an Amiga 1200/060/50
and I enjoyed it a lot, but I  ultimately passed on the CUP because I didn't believe they would really deliver what they said, and I was correct.

When they deliver a new version of imagine for OS 4, if they do....that will be great news, its a fine program.

But I don't think anyone in this market should pay for future updates or future products, just pay for what is on the shelf.  Cannot count how many companies left this market, taking as much money as they could with them....microcode solutions, phase 5, well...the list of shame is too long to bear.

Interesting fact gleaned from the Imagine ML is that the PC CUP only has 80 subscribers in it.
:-? I wonder which subscribers they're counting.  I signed up for their C.U.P. while Impulse was still handling it.  How do I subscribe to the mailing list, by the way?

I loved using Imagine on the Amiga and I still do use Lightwave albeit on a PC.

What I would love to see is a realtime 3d app that uses one of the new vide cards to H/W render.

Also I would love the renderer to be another app so that work could carry on when test rendering.

We had a 'chicken wire' metaphor and now we have the 'clay' metaphor, so what's next?
Substance!
I think the substance such as metal, cloth, plastice, etc can be defined first and the tools and their behaviour derive from there.

Just a thought.

Imagine ML can be found here
The 80 were for the PC version only. If you join the IML, have a trawl through the archives from the last month or so, there's been a bit of a row regarding lack of development on the PC version.
BTW, Martin does post to the list, so if there were any urgent questions you needed answering, he'd probably be able to help.

;-) After waiting five or six years, or however long it's been, "urgent" is not the word that springs to my mind first....

Thanks for the link, by the way!

I'd like to see a web development application that combines a wysiwyg interface and full support for scripting (including javascript, php, and asp, as well as anything else someone would want to put in there) and CSS.

;-) Another thought.  For the new Amiga, an entry-level programing language like Blitz Basic or similar would be nice.
