That is how you set up the multiple networking.  Each socket you need you will have to create.  One socket for the LAN (per each computer), one socket for the WAN (Wide Area Network).  Turn on IP-NAT in MiamiDX and the WAN is shared over the LAN when you set the other computers to use the DNS server of the machine connecting to the WAN rather than using DHCP for them.  It's been a while since I've used the wonderful world of MiamiDX but it's the easiest multiple network design I've ever used.  Once you get MiamiDX setup and running to your liking, check out SMBFS (SambaFileSystem) found on the AmiNet... a very happy network file system that works with linux/windows/mac etc.

Yeah, I've been doing it for a long time now.  Do you have two network cards?  Doesn't really matter if you don't because you can do it with one network card and a serial port, or even just two serial ports.  The key is to set up two "interfaces" in MiamiDx.  In the "LAN Connect" settings (button in the TCP/IP section of config), one interface will be set to "Internet" and the other set to "LAN".  Set up the LAN interface as a gateway for the machine(s) that you have connected to it and use internal IP/NAT to get from that interface to the Internet interface.

Well, here's how I do it.  My A4000 and my WinXP machine are both on a LAN and on the net at the same time.  I use a router to connect to the internet, which also connects all internal computers.  The nice thing about the router is that it provides firewall protection for both.  Once you set this up it's pretty simple and you don't even need MiamiDX, I just use the normal Miami.

I just installed Samba, but I'm not sure how to mount remote samba drives yet.....

SMBFS or Samba-handler do the job great.

Is that available speratly?  Doesn't seem to be in the samba archive....  I'll have to start hutning it down I guess....

Also, has anyone had any success reading amiga shares on a WinXP system?  I've been able to look at WinXP shares via smbclient, but that's about it so far.
