Maybe it's the long needed rebuild with modern secured database underway? Or the hackers finally blew it all to hell!!!  :-[

Yes you are! This happens fairly regularly without explanation and is just as likely caused by an oversight paying the site fees as it is a full scale North Korean cyber attack!  ::)

Or maybe it is simply just a server crash which is being resolved.

Well since it is now back up we'll take your word for it. I doubt many large websites would get away with having one and half days of downtime unless it was due to a major hack attack! Surely you just switch the server off and on again?  ;)
