Pavel Fedin has been assigned to port AROS to Windows/Cygwin. Basic emulation functionality shall consist of WinAPI graphics HIDD, native Windows keyboard and mouse HIDDs. These basic functionalities should be included by the tentative deadline of March 31, 2009.
Further goals consisting of networking, sound support, and other functionality will not be required for the completion of this bounty.
If you would like to donate money to encourage Pavel's efforts, please visit the power2PEOPLE website (http://www.power2people.org).

so a windows port and cygwin port? or just a port to cygwin which is on windows?
-
Right now Pavel has a mingw port. Well the commits are under the ming32 arch.. I'd rather see a standalone mingw32 host than a cygwin hamstrung host.

Not disputing your viewpoint, but, what is hamstrung about cygwin? 'Bout the only problem I've found is some programs require a certain version of cygwin.dll to run. Of course, this is from an end-users standpoint. What makes cygwin better or worse than mingw32?
